Scheduled listings are NOT free, everyone! eBay has multiple web pages showing the listing fees. They give contradictory information. I saw the wrong info and asked if anyone could confirm because I didn’t know what to think.
When I asked a question on the forum, I was looking at the eBay page showing listing fees for a seller with no store. On that page, next to “scheduled,” it said “free.” But IF YOU HAVE A STORE, IT IS NOT FREE.
I tested it out to make sure. If you have an eBay store, scheduling a listing STILL COSTS 10 CENTS.
I’m so sorry for the misunderstanding. I was just hoping someone with more experience would answer my question – I was asking because I didn’t know how to interpret the info on eBay’s web pages. If anyone heard about this on the podcast and scheduled their listings, thinking they would be free, I am SO SORRY.

Sorry, guys. I did some more investigating and it looks like anyone with a store subscription still pays the 10 cent scheduled listing fee.
I called eBay and got a confusing answer from a (non-anchor store) eBay rep. She said it was supposed to be free to schedule a listing. This seemed to confirm info. I got from another eBay rep.
However, I think I was looking at the fee page for people without a store. On the Store selling fees page, it still says scheduled listings are ten cents each for store subscribers.

So, it’s probably just my mistake.
Sorry for the confusion!

Jay, sorry, I should have been more clear. I was asking about the Scheduled Listing fee of ten cents, which was an additional “listing upgrade” fee, not the insertion fee.
I was asking because I suspect the switch to GTC has caused a drop in sales for my store. I am considering using SixBit to end/relist my items every 58 days, so they never get “stale.” I’m trying to find out if eBay still charges an extra ten cents for scheduled listings because it would make a difference in my costs.
Thank you for your answers!

Thanks, antarestar. I like your approach. Certainly makes more sense than offering it on everything.
Ok. I’ll check out Danni Ackerman. Thanks!
Hi Jay,
That makes sense. It seems to be a gimmick, basically.
But I thought I heard the search algorithm pushes items with free shipping to the top of the search results. Or, if you don’t offer free shipping, your item goes to the bottom of the pile. Could that be true?

Mike,
Thanks! Your solution worked.
I wonder why it’s working this way now. It never seemed to be tied to my account in the past. It would just calculate the fees based on a hypothetical store, as far as I could tell.
Paula
Thanks, Mike. The shipping calculators do look very useful.
Jay,
Thank you for checking. It must be my browser.

Hi Jay,
https://www.fees.ebay.com/feeweb/feecalculator
This thing. Maybe I just need to clear my cache again or something. Unless eBay has stopped supporting the page. It’s weird.
Paula
MDC Galleries, thanks, this is useful info for shipping. But my question was actually about the Fee Calculator. It estimates the eBay fees for an item.
I often go to Savers stores in Rhode Island and sometimes North Attleboro, MA. I usually just buy books but even the book department is hit or miss. Once in a while, I’ll spot a pair of shoes, a tie, or a backpack worth over $30 but Savers prices are too high. They’re charging TJ Maxx prices for clothes.
Thanks for the advice, Winchester38.
I’m in Providence, RI. I’ve been scavenging and listing part time on eBay for 8 months and would like to meet up with others in this area. I could also help out a fellow eBay seller with listing, if you have your own store.
