Thanks Libby. I will definitely hit you up soon for information on starting consignment. And I would love to join you at the meetup but I don’t live in Phillipsburg any longer. I moved to South Carolina 8 years ago. Thanks for the invite though.
I would love to find a supplier/wholesaler that can provide good deals to flip on a consistent basis. Go local, find someone online, lots of things to think about.
Looking forward to hearing your journey and how you guys plan to expand the business.
Welcome Libby! I’m a newbie on the forum too! And I’m originally from Phillipsburg, NJ. Not too far from Schnecksville.
I’ve thought about consignment but not even sure how or where to begin.
Cheers!
Wow, thanks Mike and Sharyn. I think you guys are spot on with them being a dish handle. Like in these listings. Thanks for the education!
Hey T-Satt! First off great podcast! I’m an ex-accountant so this recent podcast was a great listen.
As for selling on ebay, I don’t particularly have a niche. If I can buy it at a decent price and sell for a profit then I’ll list it. I source from wherever you can think of..Yard/Garage sales, thrift stores, online auctions, facebook marketplace, storage auctions. I haven’t dealt with retail or online arbitrage or live auctions. I’m actively searching for live auctions though but it doesn’t look like there are many near me. Jay and Ryanne seem to have great luck at those, so I want to try it out.
Thanks Jay! I’m sending in books via FBA. Yes, it has definitely been an adjustmeny. I’ve been doing books for about a year now so the long term storage fees are just starting to hit.
The minimum 50 cents per item per month for anything in storage over a year is a killer. Amazon is nice enough to send you an email every month letting you know what your storage fees will be for that month. I usually have them destroy inventory over a year except if its an expensive book, then it gets sent back to me.
