I know many of us have been stressed by buyers claiming INAD when they just want to avoid paying shipping. But where do these INAD cases get counted against us in Seller Performance? Or maybe they dont?
When I look at our seller page: https://sellerstandards.ebay.com/dashboard?region=US
I dont see INAD cases listed under item defect. -

I saw the metric once (it was separate from the current dashboard) when they started to roll this thing out. They have removed it since then.

Not sure where INAD is broken out. I only see the total return rate on the Seller Dashboard.
I’m getting a bit frustrated that we have more INAD cases now. All clothing. The latest two were for item item having a smell. Nice. Can’t have a picture to prove that, so I have no recourse either.
Oh well. Return rate is up (2.7%), but so far still selling well. Not letting it bug me much, just rolling forward…

This may be a question to ask at eBay Open:
–have INAD cases changed in eBay’s system
–how are they being counted against sellers
–where is this info displayed
–how does a seller dispute an INAD

Are we really going to start being charged $4 fee per INAD case in the near future? Someone on here mentioned that the other day and my eyes about bugged out of my head. That is some serious BS if true.

It’s worse than that. It is 4% more on your final value fees.

Im unclear on this new fee or punishment. Is there any documentation anywhere?
From the limited info someone sent me, the punishment fee is based on your rate compared to other sellers in that category.

How about instead of creating a new fee for INAD cases, they handle this competently and simply require buyers to message the seller first and have a 2 day cool-off period so the seller has time to work out the issue before an INAD case is created.
They do this and magically well over 50% of INAD cases would disappear overnight.

I did receive the e-mail from eBay saying that my INAD percentage is too high compared to other sellers in clothing/shoes category (though at 1.76%, I was a little surprised. I guess I should have spent time to call in to dispute some INADs). But it isn’t clear how the fee will be assessed–will it just be on an INAD item, will it be on all items in the seller’s store, all items in the category? I have 0 returns or INADS in the jewelry category–will these items suddenly get an extra 4% fee because eBay thinks I have too many in Clothing category?

I wonder if this applies to “item is defective” also? That would be a real game-changer for vintage electronics or anything that is prone to damage in the mail.

Yes, the e-mail broke down the buyer category responses they were counting in a chart and doesn’t work/defective and arrived damaged were both there along with doesn’t match description or photos, wrong item sent, doesn’t seem authentic, missing parts/pieces. For several, I had zero of the response type but I did have a few defective (I’m pretty sure these were a few Dansko shoes with the rubber sole disintegrating upon wear–lesson learned to be cautious with this brand)
