Life is for living! But still fun to see the things you find and sell.

Steve –
I like watching your videos, so I’ll post my sales here until you retire. Do you have a time planned?
I recently saw the movie Rocketman on my flight back from vacation in June. The actor was able to really get Elton’s Honky Château look down well – shown on the 8 track you sold. I was a huge fan growing up.
So, going back to the beginning of June …
A few years ago, I bought an auction lot of dental products. Some of the items were the weird sort of thing I thought someone out there would want. Took a while, but these teeth impressions sold for $19.

This set of plates was from an online auction earlier in the year. These are “Valley Forge” pattern plates oddly made in England. Sold for $75. Paid about $5. These types of sets require careful packing.

This Lenox teapot was bought at an online auction maybe two years ago. I paid not much for a large number of items. I paid about a $1, and it sold for $50.

I had this nice sterling necklace listed on Ruby Lane and moved it to eBay when I closed my store there. It is a commission for a family friend. I’ve had it for years, but never listed for some reason. Sold for $69 and change.

A year or two ago, our furnace went. They had to replace the control panel which automatically came with a new blower motor. They said that the one they removed still worked. It sat there for a while, but I finally listed it. It sold in about a week and a half for $199.

I bought these shorts for my son, but he didn’t like the fact that they didn’t have pockets. Not sure why they are so expensive, but sold for $34. I think that was more than what I paid.

I’ve had this painting for several years. I have a similar one from the same artist listed as well. I had it for $59 or best offer, but buyer sold full price. I think I paid $5 or so.

I bought a book lot in a recent online auction for $3 plus premium. It had many good, mostly older, books to sell, and I’ve sold a few so far. This is a relatively recent medical book that sold for $37.

This sweatshirt was on commission for my neighbor. This was a quirky Microsoft product from the 1990s called Bob that didn’t work too well. The shirt was in new condition and sold for $50.

This pan lid for outdoor grilling was part of a retail arbitrage test I tried out. I bought it for $5 plus tax about a year ago, and it sold for $25. I guess not too bad, but I have a few more left. I would say that I don’t do that great with RA.

This toy gun was left by a neighbor who moved out last year, so I got it for free. This is another item I listed on Ruby Lane and moved over to eBay. Sold for $38.

I bought this set of Blue Willow pieces in the same auction as the Valley Forge plates. Sold for $48. This is going to New Zealand through global shipping.

This art fabric had been in a frame sitting in my inventory for years. Someone asked if I would remove it from the frame and sell for my $50 offer. It was a rather large frame and expensive to ship, so I agreed.

This antique knife sharpener was from an online auction where I bought the contents of a few kitchen drawers for less than $5. This is the type of thing I really enjoy; something hidden that ends up being somewhat valuable. It sold for $56.

Royal Crownford was a tradename for Crownford China and Crownford Giftware Corp of New York (had to find out, never heard of Royal Crownford, which didn’t seem like an English name). They imported from a couple of Staffordshire potteries.
eBay UK’s now educating business sellers on the General Product Safety Regulation, which means that from December 13 sellers will have to provide the product manufacturer’s name and contact information, or, if the manufacturer’s not in the EU or Northern Ireland, an EU-based Responsible Person or entity, along with their name and contact details.
This for new and secondhand goods advertised for sale to the EU or Northern Ireland, but not antiques or “products that need to be repaired, reconditioned, or recycled prior to being used and are clearly marked as such”.
Can eBay help me find a Responsible Person?
We’re searching for external service providers that would support you with appointing an EU or NI-based Responsible Person. We’ll update this page and share more information when it’s available.-

@Antique-Frog – Thanks for that information! It makes more sense now. I was thinking back to a trip about 25 years ago that happened to be during the July 4 week. We were in France with an English tour guide, and he made a joke about how we were celebrating our freedom from his country.
I can’t help you with the responsible person. We don’t have those kind of people here.
