Killer stuff, Steven!
Some of my sales over the past 7 days:
Beatles Magical Mystery Tour LP (Early Reissue)
Introducing The Beatles LP
Beatles Yellow Submarine LP
Beatles Rubber Soul LP (Reissue)
On the Sunday post I mentioned the high end record collection I bought, including 38 Beatles LPs in awesome condition. I was nervous I overpaid ($750 for 51 total records), but have already sold 4 for $130. I’m well on my way.1950-57 Zippo Lighter Plain Blank
I always pick up Zippos as a BOLO. Even modern ones are good money. This one sold for $40 best offer, probably paid $3 for it.c1940s Wade & Butcher Straight Razor
Straight razors are also always on my BOLO list for the right price. This one is quite high end, but has some pretty significant damage. I’ve had it for a while and ended up taking a $80 best offer, paid no more than $5 for it. Once the guy [presumably] restores it, it should be worth over $300.1979 Star Wars Millennium Falcon Die Cast
I continue selling items for the vintage toy hoard a bought a while back. Paid about $10 for this piece, sold for $50. -

I didn’t have a great week, but I have a few with interesting stories. I have a return request against my highest sale, so I won’t post that one.
This was my second highest sale – a vintage beaded necklace bought for $1, sold for $20 which includes $3 for shipping.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/182327619113I recently bought a lot at an online auction for a bid of $2. This one had a vintage bread box and some unfired ceramics. Inside the bread box (and not photographed for the auction) was a matted print still wrapped in cellophane (currently listed) and these vintage salesbooks with carbon copy paper. Paid pennies, sold for $13.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/182688586451This plate is something I picked up at the Goodwill over a year ago when I was relatively new to eBay selling. It had a huge number of views (4,870 at the end) but didn’t sell until now. The artist must have been mentioned in an article somewhere. Paid $1.50, sold for $15.26 (on sale).

Great ending with the dogs and cat. Steve sounds like Mike Rowe! To me at least.

Syroco Plastics was also manufactured in my hometown of Baldwinsville NY in a hamlet called VanBuren, just 15 minutes from Syracuse NY. We were surrounded by the stuff in the 70s- wall art, parson’s tables, ice buckets, dishes.
I’ve never added to the what sold- here are just a few of the items sold this week. I’m a part time seller. Prices do not include shipping
-Asolo Hiking H2O waist fanny pack $28.99 to Budapest Hungary

-Red Wing Tampico mid century 4 dinner plates $39.99
-2 ‘King Size’ brand plaid shirts, men’s BIG sizes 8XL and 9XL to the same buyer, for $21.99 each, not a huge sale but hard to find sizes.

I haven’t posted any of my sold items in a while, so here are a few favorites from the last couple of weeks.
Antique Coleman Poultry Lantern – My biggest sale ever! I bought this at a yard sale for $80 (big money for me) and sold it within 2 days of listing for $975!
Ridiculous (and sort of awesome) Vintage Amateur Painting – I think I paid about $1 for this 2-3 years ago. It finally sold for $90. I knew somebody wanted him!
Vintage Mormon Flannel Board Bible Stories – Paid $2 for the whole lot at a school rummage sale and sold for $100.
Discontinued Schleich Toy Horse – Got this at a church sale for 25 cents and sold it for $19.99. I love Schleich toys and they always sell. Not huge sales but they are great, high quality toys and they sell well …especially if they are discontinued. I also sold a 3-piece set of huskies from the same sale for $25.

Amazing sale on that lantern. Love learning from everyone here… I would never have looked twice at that at a yard sale or flea market!

Yep.. Great find and sale on that Coleman Lantern. Never even seen one before even though I know to keep an eye out for old Coleman products. You would think that some would pop around Atlanta now and then considering that North Georgia is the chicken capital of the USA. Perdue, Tyson brand among many others are all located in Northern Georgia and there are plenty of chicken houses around. One would think that some of those lanterns would still be found at some of the old farm and barn auctions we go to. But never seen any.
Great price on it.

Does anyone know eBay’s official policy on selling the game of Jarts? There are several listed, but I have a feeling they are supposed to be banned.
-
08/12/2017 at 7:03 am #21686
They are banned, they’ll even get taken down on Craigslist.
Years ago I sold a set on eBay using a 3 day auction with a buy it now. There are a lot of people who have them but on a watch list.
You do run the risk of raising the ire of eBay if ou are a repeat offender though.
I have a set now but just use it myself, it’s a great game, just have to pay attention.

My ebay sales finally slowed down this week. I haven’t been listing much so I’m running a 40% off sale on items I’m sick of seeing in my inventory.
My highest sale of the week was a Norma Kamali swimsuit I sold for $125, which I bought with original tags for $5! Another good sale was a Rockmount Ranch Wear shiny red shirt with pearl snap buttons on sale for $35.99. It’s the perfect rockabilly shirt.
For sourcing – the last few weeks have been great for retail arbitrage as stores & websites try to clear out their summer merchandise. I’m getting items brand new with tags for less than what I could buy used at Goodwill. I have lots of listing to get to!
