Steve – So, did the guy who bought the Marantz leveling leg also buy the name plate?
I purchased the contents of a bookcase for a dollar or two bid, and this two book set on the history of two counties in NJ sold for $60.

I bought this in an auction for a few dollars. I don’t have its history, so I can’t really say that its age or origin, but it looks really old and primitive. Sold for $28.

I keep seeing all these articles about how the Queen’s Gambit was increasing the interest in chess, that it was becoming the next pandemic game obsession, and that chess sets were flying off the shelves. Then, I remembered that I had two in my basement waiting to be listing. Duh! This stone one sold for $69, one of my commission items.

I bought this a year or two ago for a few dollars. It’s an interesting fish knife and fork set. Sold for $39.

The last time I picked up items from my commissionee, I received several sets of flatware. I was excited to see that one was sterling. I’ve made quite a bit off those in the past two weeks. Six soup spoons for $258 and two forks and a teaspoon for $98.

This is a hot plate for lab use. I bought it at the beginning of the year with a bunch of vintage scales. Paid about $3, sold for $52.

Steve, you are my hero and inspiration!
Time to part out a couple of turntables I just can’t quite get to work.
And if I’ve managed to fix one old 8-track player ( down to 3 burned out track light indicator bulbs.)
But as Ryanne and Jay said in the podcast, every week you feature several things from my “enthusiasm collection” ( beta machines sell? I have 2! Built models? C’mon) and I want to officially say THANKS

I’ve found the track indicator bulbs are usually not burned out but the contact wheel that energizes them needs some deoxit spray to clean them up.

No luck after the cleaning, but easy job dropping in LEDs. Of course, in true scavenger fashion, using only LEDs harvested from broken toys or electronics, still have to find one more. But the colors are COOL!

love reading about peoples sales. the past couple holiday weeks have been pretty good for me.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/193746044293 — Thrift store find, New Zealand military helicopter mug. Picked it up for a couple dollars and sold for $19.50
https://www.ebay.com/itm/193785219538 — mini wooden high game bowling pins. won a couple online auctions. these were in a “lot” with the contents of several shelves on a wall.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/193798494904 — This is a Spiderman drawing from a comic book artist. I’m the original owner, got this from the artist direct at a comic con back in the 90’s.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/193772761851 — Got this Westminster Abbey guide book in a box of stuff from an estate sale. Found an entire box of tourist stuff (maps, guide books, postcards, touristy crap) at an estate sale and bought the whole box for ten dollars. Probably 40 to 50 things worth listing as I work my way through it. This guide book sold for $12.50
https://www.ebay.com/itm/193811265863 — Vintage coffee pantry canister. found this in a garage at an estate sale. it was being used to hold roofing nails. bought for two bucks and sold for $18
https://www.ebay.com/itm/193756391311 — another law book from the two big bins of books I won in an online auction. This book sold for $25… paid a few dollars for the entire lot. think I’m at about $150 in sales so far for these books.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/193807297946 — Makers Mark mini cocktail shaker – got this in the lot with the mini bowling pins!
https://www.ebay.com/itm/193827473350 — 3rd printing of Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. got this for $2 at an estate sale and sold for $58.
several other items sold from my own collection of toys and collectibles that I’m downsizing. trying to be consistent with listing things. currently at 170 listings, hoping to break 200 by the end of the weekend.
