Not counting never received packages, what was the item that stalled the longest somewhere in the system this holiday season but finally got there?
My longest was one that got lost somewhere between Detroit and Linden MI from Dec 6th until being delivered on Dec 23rd. 17 days! That seller contacted me on the 14th, mentioning it was stalled and it was a gift for her son. I happened to have multiples of that item (an automotive patch), and as a courtesy, I sent her another one. That one arrived on the 21st, in only 7 days. Heh.
I had a few other 14-15 day stalls that finally became active, some arriving before Xmas, others still out there slowly moving.
How about you?

I was thinking about starting a thread just like this one – you beat me to it! 🙂
My longest delay of a package that was finally delivered is 16 days (Dec 7 – 23rd). Pair of jeans, in-state(!), INR opened, but buyer never demanded a refund, and gave me positive feedback in the end.
BUT, I have several packages still out there that could win this category. One package sent on November 30th still hasn’t arrived but is finally moving along. And I’ve got Dec 7th and Dec 9th packages still outstanding as well.
How about a second category – longest delay between tracking updates?
My Nov 30th package had no updates at all (not even any “arriving late” updates) from December 3rd to 21st – so 18 days! Can anyone beat that? 🙂
This is fun!

Agreed Sonia, we need two categories. The one I mentioned was stuck in one place for 17 days, it was bought on Dec 1st and arrived Xmas eve for 23 days total! So it “wins” both categories.
I do have one I already refunded that was bought on Nov 18th, so if that showed up eventually it would be over 37 days and counting!

I had a purchase go unscanned from December 3rd to 23rd, then show up in my PO Box within two days of opening a missing mail case.
But I have that beat with a sale that was finally delivered today after 21 days – December 3rd to 24th. NJ to Arizona. The package took a detour to Oregon in the first week of its journey, but still ended up at an Arizona USPS hub by December 10th. Then the tracking stopped until the buyer opened an INR case and I opened a missing mail case. Happily, the buyer received the package (which was a Christmas gift) today on Christmas eve. Couldn’t have scripted it better if I tried!
In case anyone needs the link…

Two USPS first class mail packages:
Worst case: 38 days. Atlanta to Memphis. Mailed 10/23/20, delivered 11/30/20.
Runner up: 27 days. Atlanta to Denver. Mailed 11/27/20, delivered 12/24/20.

As far as actually delivered I believe my longest delivery time was 25 days for first class mail – shipped on 11/30 and delivered on 12/24. Going from Colorado to Pennsylvania. Seconds after I refunded that item on 12/22 I got a text from USPS showing that it had moved within the system. I had refunded because it was a Christmas item, not because I had an item not received case. So of course it was delivered before Christmas – LOL!
I’ve got several still undelivered items that will beat that though (if they are ever delivered!).

My longest delay (still not delivered) was shipped Dec 2, tracked when leaving NJ on the 6th, then finally a scan in MI on the 23rd. Still not delivered, and it is a Christmas item. It’s a bit pricey, so I want the item back before I refund.
I have an area rug that was shipped out on Dec 10, and, other than the acceptance scan, nothing.

Nothing like you guys, but I had a priority package stuck 11 days at the San Bernadino CA Post Office. After filing the missing mail request, it was delivered 26 hours later in Alabama.
Either it was a strange coincidence, or that missing mail request sometimes works.
Merry Christmas everyone.

USPS shows parcel received 11/25, last update was 12/2 showing in transit, arriving late
eBay tracking doesn’t show my priority shipment was ever received
I haven’t heard anything from the buyer at all so I can only assume they either received their item weeks ago or aren’t concerned at all about the shipping delays
I have only had one other package where the tracking was this bad, but that was sent media mail around this time last year

My longest was Nov 28th to Dec 22nd, so just 25 days. Â My average is about 18 days for the last month or so. And, believe it or not, customers have not complained. Â I had 2 who did contact me, I put in a case, and their package started moving right after entering the case. Â They both received their packages and they were very happy.
I do still have one that was shipped on Dec 8th that has been stalled for a while now, no idea when it will deliver but I’m guessing sometime in the next few days.
I still have my store on a 15 day handling time. Â I ship right away, but it gives me a little buffer with eBay. Â I am thinking I will lower my handling time back to normal here pretty soon – but I just sent out a set of 7 things just the other day and they still have not moved from my origin post office, so I may hold off just another week or so. Â I’m hoping it all catches up here soon.
Good luck all.

Hi everyone, hope all are warm and safe
I have 4 out of 5 still out there…all from 12/7 and all still in ‘PRE-SHIPMENT INFO SENT USPS AWAITS ITEM’ status. My mail carrier picked them up from my porch, as usual.
On 12/23 I opened a USPS Claim on one of them (shipped Priority and the highest value of all 5, and, believe it or not, only travelling 3 hours from here). The buyer had opened an Ebay Item Not Received case on 12/21. The case was supposed to be open (per Ebay) through 12/29 but Ebay closed the case and reimbursed the buyer on 12/25. ?
On 12/26, I started getting USPS tracking updates that the item was in the buyers town.
On 12/27 the item was delivered.
Fortunately, the buyer was cool and, in a nutshell they reimbursed me via PayPal. I followed this up with an appeal/request to ebay to ditch the case. There was no option for me to call Ebay? (I tried several avenues) so I did it via messaging.I opened another USPS claim today for one of the remaining 4 packages I sent on 12/7. This buyer opened a case weeks ago and was reimbursed. However, when the item starts moving/is delivered, I’ll contact the buyer… just like I did with the one mentioned above and ask them kindly to return or reimburse.
Good FYI…
USPS tracking updates and Ebay updates don’t always jive. One example is from November. I have an item that was late arriving to its destination, but delivered late in November and, on Ebay, its still today showing that its stuck somewhere. However, USPS shows it was delivered.
