Alright this is a doozy I think. Sorry for it being long, but I am not sure how to handle this. I obviously would like to get the negative feedback removed, but not sure if I have a leg to stand on here. Here is all the information.
2/15 sold Levenger 11 hole punch for $29.99 + $9.19 (parcel select) shipping. I was on vacation so my vacation settings were on and I also changed the handling time. I sent the buyer a message to make sure that they knew I was away and that I wouldn’t be shipping until 2/21. Their response was “Yes, I knew when I bought it. Thanks”
2/21 The item was shipped Parcel Select just like they paid for.
2/27 Received the following message from the buyer. “I paid over $9 for shipping. And waited for you to ship while you were out of town. You couldn’t upgrade to priority mail? What is taking so long.” I responded right with this message. “Unfortunately with Monday being a holiday it didn’t go out until Tuesday (2/21). It is a very heavy item and what you paid in shipping is the same as what I paid.” They responded with this message. “So it didn’t go priority? That’s crummy.” I decided it was best not to engage with them anymore after that.
3/1 Received the following message from the buyer. “This is ridiculous. I needed this last week. Very unhappy.”
3/3 Received the following message from the buyer. “I’m so disgusted with this item. It has rust spot and it’s going to use a whole bottle of Goo Gone to clean the old tape residue off of it. What a mistake. It took way too long to get here. You could have added a few bucks and sent it priority. Very very disappointed.”
3/4 Received the following message from the buyer. “I’ll do feedback Monday evening. I hope to hear from you about how you failed on this transaction.”
3/8 Left negative feedback with the following comment. “Undisclosed rust. Paper guide broken. Paid $9 shipping – took over 10 days.”
I reexamined the photos on the listing. I didn’t see any rust spots or any tape residue. I typically remove any tape residue that is on an item. At this time, I have not asked for any photos from the buyer. Should I ask for photos? I appreciate any advice you can provide. Thank you for reading this and any help you can give me.

Yes, when you call eBay, they will ask you to engager the buyer to work it out.
–Say you take returns for any reasons. (eBay wants to see the buyer was offered a return)
–Then you wait.
–If the buyer opens a return and says it’s your fault, you ask for photos. If the photos do not back up his complaint, then you can call eBay to fight the return and negative.
–If the buyer chooses not to return the item, you can call eBay to fight the negative because he chose to not return the item.We do what we can. Sometimes we have to live with bad feedback because it’s their opinion. It’s always weird when a buyer says an item is broken/unusable but choose to keep it.

i believe that if you had your handling time adjusted for your shipping delay, and the buyer mentioned the shipping delay as the reason for negative feedback, then it can be removed. please mention that when you call.

Well I call today on this and the rep basically said its the buyer’s opinion. I had messaged the buyer after Jay’s advice and never heard a word. The ebay rep told me to reach out again. So I did and I don’t expect to hear anything. I will call again at the end of the month. Thanks for your help Jay and Ryanne. Even if I can’t get it removed I appreciate all the advice.

wait, so the buyer said the shipping was slow, but your handling time was adjusted and it arrived in the time estimated? then you should be able to get that negative removed. call again.
