I made a mistake before I knew about getting cases made and closed. I’ve had very few unpaid items since I started to I was marking them out of stock to clear them out instead of doing unpaid item cases. It’s a dumb mistake but I didn’t see a button for the thing I wanted so I was just clicking what was there.
So now my defect rate is 4 of 179 and it dropped me down to Above Standard as my seller rating. It’s been like that for three months. It keeps telling me my seller rating will still be above standard if they evaluate today. When does the defect rate drop off? It’s the only thing keeping my from going back to top rated.

Did the buyers ever pay on the unpaid item cases?

The defects should drop off after three months. Lesson learned.

No the buyers never paid. They were old unpaid items. Good to know it will eventually drop off. It’s hard to find any info through eBay about it.

Ferengi,
Even though they drop off after 3 months, since they are still there, it might be beneficial to call ebay and have them review your status. If deemed appropriate, they can reinstate your TRS status.

AdventureE I might do that. Maybe they would bump the number down since 1 less TDR would put me back to top rated.
I have another dumb question. It says My defect rate is 4 of 179. What’s the 179 represent? It’s not my total shipped number of sales.

Where do you see this defect number?
I go here to see my Seller Level: https://sellerstandards.ebay.com/dashboard?region=USUnder Transaction Defect Rate, I can open up this section.
It shows the number of defects and number of sales within a three month period.
The there’s a link to get your full defect report:
http://www.sps.ebay.com/sd/reports/defect?programs=US&evalType=ESTIMATED_FUTUREDo you see this?
How many items did you sell in the last three months?

Great question. If it is not your total shipped sales or the out of the total number of items in your store, ask ebay how that number was calculated.

I believe the transaction defect rate is for a year, not 3 months.

Jay you are correct. I don’t know how I didn’t see the down arrow next to defect rate. I never clicked the arrow to expand the selection and go into full report.
Jan 11, 2018 17:33 Clarks Artisan Collection Womens Sandals Size 6.5
Jan 06, 2018 11:59 Under Armour Running Shoes Gray Orange Womens Size 5.5 USED
Dec 25, 2017 15:26 Gadget Guard iPad Air Tempered Glass Black Ice Screen Protector
Jul 13, 2017 18:20 Sketchers Lightweight Women’s ShoeTwo of those are legit my screw up. Two were unpaid items I just clicked out of stock on to clear out because I didn’t know to open a case for them. The under armor shoes sold and I must have listed the quantity as 2 because they sold again and i didn’t know the listing was active. I had a bunch of those Ipad screen protectors and sold one more than I actually had somehow.
So I guess this is half my fault actually.

The Transaction rate allowed to keep your Top rated seller status is a very small number. Based on 179 sales, you can’t even have one.
Good Luck.
