As some others shared, it was a slow week on the eBay front. Lots of items under $25. Good news is that we’ve already sold as much in three days as al

2024 projected total sales $84,272.98What a rough week. I’ll chalk it up to the Southeast having shopping on ebay as the LAST thing on their minds, as well as election stress/burnout. Looking at my traffic metrics there was more than a 20% drop compared to the previous week. That’s a pretty severe drop off!
It was a busy week outside of ebay. I’ve also just not been “feeling it” when it comes to ebay. I did get back to my roots and clean a bunch of items like shoes and toys but didn’t get a chance to photograph them. It felt good to do a task I haven’t done much of in the last year or two. The rest of this month is pretty much a wash but I do hope to find some time to photograph this week and at least get all my drafts live.
Also of note, is anyone else getting a TON of late shipment defects from ebay? I ship on time (mostly) and use USPS ground advantage for most of my packages. Without fail, ground advantage is 1-3 (or more) days late. Even Priority is also a day late pretty often.
Keep an eye on your shipping metrics. If you’re getting a bunch of late shipment dings you can request to remove them here:

I submitted 12 requests this morning for items I shipped on time but USPS delivered late and all were approved.
Premium Hoarder update:
Sold 4 items for $250.
Mid premium sales to match my low budget week. My kids like to call things “mid” or “low budget”. Their modern slang cracks me up.

Good week on Ebay for me. I need to list as much as possible as we can use the $ and there is great inventory lying around. I miss vintage sourcing but silver lining of recovery is it’s not tempting. I was surprised to find some nice RA bargains this time of year. Those new items help my store in 4th quarter usually.
Recovery is slow and it’s frustrating but I’m getting used to just using just the app from the sofa. I wish Ebay would make the “what others charged for it” a more reliable easy link to Terapeak solds.
This week I got stung with a huge upcharge adjustment for Fed Ex on a tube. 4x4x24. $40 for “special handling”. Weight and measurements were correct. Is this just a Fed Ex thing to avoid them with shipping tubes? I don’t see any way to contest it through Ebay.
Happy for you R&J about the Fall business! It would be so nice to come and hang out at your coffee shop in the season. Lots of people are reporting slow sales this month on Facebook, podcasts. Also hearing reports of Ebay tinkering with the app.
Have a great week.

My numbers aren’t too bad. I had a $143 sale on Etsy and a couple over $25 sales on eBay. I don’t know why my experience is opposite that of Retro & Jay, but my inventory is much smaller and a few big sales make a bigger difference.

I am so, so happy to see these updates still happening! We still love our Broadporch subscription. I need to go get caught up on all the recent happenings.
I was reminded to stop back here today after I gave someone the advice to listen through the podcast journey and try selling online before they tried to open a retail store.
eBay has taken a back burner to our retail store, but it’s still chugging along. We’ve learned so much and it started here. Thank you all for being so open and sharing knowledge.

Great numbers, especially only selling 20-30 items.
