Our big sale this week was a $900 vintage appliance. Ryanne finds these things online when people are cleaning out a house. Since we have a storage bu

2024 projected total sales $72,348.64Well baseball/softball season is a wrap, and a HOT wrap it was! This week is fairly open…but it will be crunch week to get ready for the new baby. My wife will be in the labor window starting this coming weekend.
This heat is soooo oppressive and it has really thrown a wrench into my ebay plans. I need to badly do some reorganization but I can’t string together a good amount of time to get it done. I’m thinking this coming Saturday I’m going to have to wake up at daybreak at 6am to get some stuff done. I REALLY don’t like waking up early on the weekend as that is my recovery sleep time. I can’t spend a ton of time in my inventory shed if it is hot – it’s basically an oven even with several fans going. It’s bad enough just collecting items to ship on the super hot days.
Yesterday was a ‘mild’ 85, so I did do some organization in the garage with the door open. I was at least able to clear my walkway paths so I can freely move around.
The problem is that I have over 275 drafts ready for photos but between the hoarder haul and the toy haul I’ve filled the space I normally use to process through photographed items awaiting being placed in inventory. I have my photography table covered up in draft items as well.
Yard sales were sparse this week – people just did NOT want to sit out and bake in that heat. I only got a handful of items. Next weekend is looking to be about the same temps so I don’t expect a bunch of yard sales then either.
Premium Hoarder update:
Sold 8 items for $768.
I have the drafts made for almost all the shoes and I’ve started in on clothes. There are some really heavy hitters in the clothes that I didn’t expect to be as good as they are. I haven’t even got to the heavy hitters I knew were there. My overall ASP should be much higher on this last haul since I left a bunch of the lower ASP or slower selling items.

Jay – I believe I’ve seen other similar appliances sell in your store before. I recall similar stove/oven combos when I was growing up in that turquoise color. My parents remodeled the kitchen around the time I was in high school or college.
Another slow week, but much higher ASP. In addition to my highest sale (on commission), I sold a Lenox coffee pot for $50 (not on commission). Much of the rest was in the $20 to $30 range.
My one Etsy sale was a vintage PAN AM Victorinox Pocket Knife for $29 – $4.36 shipping. I had this in a pile of stuff I thought was low value but I wanted to combine stuff to list. Either I made a mistake or the value increased over the time while it sat.

Number of items listed this week: 20Better week on Ebay for me. I ran a 25% off sale on the whole store. I just started a 20% off sale and so far it’s not as busy.
Getting ready to do my vintage market booth again. Will pivot and bring the things that are selling best, with a 4th of July / nautical spin. Will bring less overall. We will get a little fog cover and it should be a really nice 71 degrees high.
I’m getting a lot of “horder” / storage unit comments from my family as the garage is a mess. I get so tired on booth days and everything gets dumped in the garage. I have been buying a bit too much and spent time on the booth situation, so it was good to get back to listing this weekend. I’ve already decided to have a garage sale late summer as well. For now, I will be working this week on organizing in there and listing a few things on FB Marketplace.
I finally booked my daughter’s graduation trip, we will see the French Quarter in NOLA, then Nashville and see Dollywood staying at a friend’s house nearby. My mom was from NO but I haven’t been back much as an adult. I’ve only seen Memphis before so looking forward. It will be mid-July, and certainly hoping to miss any heat dome situations. Fingers crossed.
I scored some 1970s works by this artist https://www.lot-art.com/auction-lots/J-Florian-Steiner-20-th-Century-Hungarian/147-j_florian-06.8.22-clark that look nothing like the one shown here. Unfortunately a couple have water damage to the backings. The old man was selling them for the “great frames” at $5 apiece and was shocked I liked the art work. He was definitely not the right owner for these.

Ebay was a slow week, but FBM was okay. Most of the items were free. I had sold these “free” items: vintage porcelain baby tub and stand, three side tables, a wicker screen, a painted glass window, a wrought iron lamp, ceramic vintage bull pipe-rest, and more metal yard art.
This past weekend I found a skinny kitchen freestanding cabinet, a rusty flower art chandelier (very brutalistic and obviously handmade), two coffee tables, an Apple ipad holder that looks like a leather book, vintage woodworking tools, and two LG sound bars with subwoofers. My husband figured out the sound bars work, so we are keeping those for our AirBnB in New Bern. I donated three tubs of basic household goods and have receipts for those.
I did have a negative experience this past Saturday. I was in an apartment complex loading a coffee table into my truck and this woman came out and started video-taping me. I ignored her, and then she came up and got my truck license number, etc. I waved and told her to have a nice day, which she glared at me. So I’ll probably skip that complex for a month, I imagine she has complained about me and posted on NextDoor or something. The other three complexes have maintenance men that I have met, but I have never been able to find this particular one’s maintenance guy.
