I made a bit of a mistake that affected my sales last week. I needed time to focus on my career job because of a task due date. I used the Time Away function so that I wouldn’t have to ship any sales until after the task was due. After two days, the customer extended the due date to January, so I took off Time Away. However, I discovered that eBay had paused sales (which is their default), but I just wanted to delay shipping. I have to remember to look closer next time.
Anyways, my numbers aren’t that much different from previous weeks because I did have a few $25 – $50 items.
I hope that Jay and Ryanne are super busy with holiday celebrations!

Thanks for posting this thread Sharyn. I have definitely tailed off on tracking my weekly numbers over the last few months, so I want to be smart and get back in the habit just before New Year’s.
My eBay numbers have also tailed off over the last few weeks, but that was kinda intentional on my part. I started the week before Christmas by culling my inventory about 50 listings, then did end and sell similar on most of what was left including lowering prices one final time before year’s end. I think it’s good to do this a few times a year, especially if you’re going to take a break from listing. If you just stop listing, your sales fall off dramatically. I listed 23 items the week of the 8th and 15 this past week and sold 35 and 20 items each of those week. It would have been a lot less sales (closer to what I listed) without analyzing my inventory like I did. I sold a dozen items from the end and sell similar batches in the first three days after I completed them.
One nice change: I didn’t feel particularly stressed about my reselling business this month, which is no small potatoes for a full-time reseller in December. This allowed me time for other things (mainly my card consignment inventory, which is my main focus especially from November to February) and that was all I needed to get excited again about my eBay store. I cranked out 50 new listings this week, mostly my card lots which have become my favorite type of listing. I’m back at 400 listings which feels great. It feels even better when a few listings sold that I listed this week. Sometimes eBay work can pay off very quickly.
I have some weird oddball items to list with the new year just around the corner. Staring at them right now, or maybe they are staring at me. Some comic book statues, some posters and artwork, autographed memorabilia. My eBay inventory changed a lot over this year. I’m excited to see what 2025 brings for my store and all of yours. Happy (almost) new year, my scavenger friends.

Other than that I can’t remember much ebay-wise from this week at this point. The week was a blur due to all the family activities we were doing. Expect a much bigger post for the last week of the year. I already wrote it – it’s an opus.
