Absolutely brutal week. Probably our slowest week on eBay ever. We’re guessing it’s a combination of our second week with “Time Away” turned on + gene

yeah, that’s pretty brutal.
it would be a monumental effort with a 10k store, but I would recommend you start to really look at all your old items.
when I end/sell similar I do 5 items at a time. I open each sell similar in a New window and give the whole listing a once-over looking for anything that needs updated. If needed I’ll do a quick research to check current market comps and STR. Sometimes the recommended price and comps tool that pops up is helpful.
I also revise the shipping info as well.I try to do 30 items a day while at my day job spread throughout the day. Every morning I end the oldest 30 items in my store, and then do 5 listings at a time in my down time to keep it from being overwhelming.
the end goal is for this to be an evergreen process where the oldest listing in my store is 6 months old max. Every month I would end sell similar the listings that fall out of that window. I just go with gut on repricing depending on the market.

Items in Store: 3130
Items Sold: 42
Total Sales: $2,708.00
COGS: $259.00
Total Profit: $2,449.00
Average profit: $58.31
Average sales price: $64.48
New Listings: 29
Items scavenged: 47
2024 weekly new listings Avg: 38
2024 avg gross weekly sales $1,504.78
2024 Avg weekly Items Sold 33
2024 ASP $45.95
2024 projected total sales $78,248.63Now that’s a great week! I wish they could all be this good. I averaged around $2200 a week in sales in the last 20 weeks of last year ($2500 in Q4). If I can keep that kind of trend this year I will cross $90k in sales.
I’m lagging still on my weekly average listings. I’m running out of room in storage and that makes things harder. I’m about ready to punt on jackets/coats as that will clear up room for 18 more bins in my inventory building. That would let me blaze through the rest of the hoarder clothing with reckless abandon if I have that kind of dedicated storage space. I’m going to evaluate my listed coats this week and drastically reduce price on the less desirable ones. If I could reduce coat storage by half that is still 9 more bins which is enough to store 225-250 clothing items.
In other news, I had to go back to work…BOO!!! It was a great 4 weeks off. When our last child was born in 2021 I was in ICU with covid. I was very sick her first week and then was in the hospital for a month, so I basically missed her first 5 weeks.
So to spend 4 weeks with this little guy and be able to be there and fully support my wife – oh boy it was so amazing!
Premium Hoarder update:
Sold 12 items for $1690.
Well I made up for the slow week last week! I have crossed $50k in total sales on this collection. Taking into consideration my entire COGS (not just on what has sold) I crossed $25k in actual profit (after ebay fees and $18761 cogs). Funny, my bank account sure don’t look like I’ve made an extra $25k in the past year. Thanks inflation!!
I currently have 464 items listed in this collection at a list value of $75k. I have a TON still to list. We’ll get there eventually – just keep swimming!

I’m so glad R&J that you had a good stay in NYC. Word on the street (Youtube/podcasts) is Ebay will beat you up over stale items and buyers are getting cheaper. Nobody really knows for sure of course. The elementary students here go back next week, colleges start the week after. So some people are transitioning. I also go beat up since I haven’t listed much the last couple of weeks.
After badmouthing RA last week, I actually did hit a couple of sales up this week and a smaller amount of Target RA. I also did a ton of thrifting for my youngest’s apartment as I prepare to become an empty nester (at least a part-time one, she’ll be local). One thing about live selling is my schedule doesn’t always work with the dates. I did not make it to the flea market this week and the dog show is next week. Hope the following week is ok. It does give me more time to prep and organize here. I am selling at the same vintage market and have moderate to low expectations for that one, but I just feel like doing it.
My husband is driving across country with my son back to upstate NY. His friend in Des Moines is out of the country so they might go and see some of the south this time after Vail. If it makes sense any sense on their route I’ll have him check out your rentals. 🙂

Hi, still scavenging free stuff here in Charleston SC area. Last week was slow for me too, but it inspired me to make a new challenge this week to average $100 a day profit.

FBM items sold / price / COGs: 5 items / $150 / $0 COGs

My FBM items sold were a Simple Human trashcan for $25, a wicker nightstand for $45, two card tables for $20, a 3×5 ft Nuloom rug for $30, and 20 gold/white Fireking plates for $30. These are the white Fireking plates with gold rims, of which there are a TON on ebay and I didn’t want to list them for $12 each and ship. All were free finds.
For ebay, my best sale was a teacher manual textbook for Shurley English 3rd grade for $49.99. I picked up a lot of textbooks (over 100) last August from a local private school for free; so far I’ve made over $700 profit in selling them. I generally charge $29.99 for student texts and $49.99 for the teacher manuals. I’ve sold all the teacher editions now though.
I decided to aim for $100 a day profit this week. to up my numbers. I knew I’d have to do more driving/scavenging. I went out Sunday night for two hours, Monday for 30 minutes, Tuesday for an hour, and Wed for an hour. I’ll go into more detail next week but so far I’ve made $624 profit Mon-Sat. 10 out of 13 sales have been FBM.

No big dollar sales for me this past week, but a decent enough week for late summer and I love the way my numbers broke down by category: 50% of my sales were my custom trading card lots (mostly 10 card lots organized by team), 25% trading card singles and 25% other items. This week, the bulk of those other items were signed, full-sized jerseys, something I’ve only started selling in the past few months and a category that I listed in quite a bit over the last few weeks. I have a few more jerseys in the to-be-photographed bin this week. I’m looking forward to getting them listed so they show up in a future numbers thread.

So … I seemed to have missed this post. I’ve already wrote over the old numbers for this week, but I recall that I sold 12 items for about $330 (includes fees but no shipping or tax). My highest sale was $33 for framed art. I listed two items.
I’m glad you had a great time in NYC!
