I got another “can you take photos with these shoes on your feet?” Questions again this morning. I tried humor to deflect the question, then I tried to engage the person to see if there was a legitimate reason for their request (there wasn’t).
A few minutes of google research then led me to the magical buzzwords “well worn”.
I think we should all be aware of this “interesting” subset of eBay since we could all potentially fall into it by accident as used shoe/clothes sellers.
I perused a couple successful – and highly lucrative – shoes listings. It was equal parts intrigue, humor, and disgust.
The disgust mainly comes from my greedy side pondering “well it would be lucrative…” and “I suppose i’d have to get a PO box…” and lastly “…hey honey, can you take a couple photos with these shoes for me?” (I kid! I kid!)
If anyone needs me I’ll be in the kitchen bleaching my brain to remove the experience. Lol!

Yeah, those guys are out there. eBay does let that market exist. To each his own.
I’ve also looked into those items just see what people pay for them. Doesn’t seem worth it. I imagine they want stories as well as the item too.

Some friends and I were actually discussing getting into the “well-worn” shoe business — I believe someone on Etsy sells, or used to sell, a handbook — but ultimately it was the spectre of providing more than just the shoes that stopped us from getting involved. As far as the fetish goes, I don’t judge, and would happily sell beat-up shoes to anyone, for any purpose, but providing more than just the old shoes is just outside my comfort zone.
I did once get a very odd, sort of worshipful message about a pair of mukluks. 😀

Remember that you’re not really selling the item. You’re selling the fantasy.

Thanks a lot Retro, I was selling used shoes and blissfully unaware of this “well worn” thing but then after reading this post curiosity got the best of me and I had to google it. I guess there are a lot worse things people can be into but now every time I sell a pair of used womens shoes I’ll be thinking in the back of my head….”I wonder what they intend to do with these” haha

i was looking up sold prices for some flats today and the highest sold ones were ‘very well worn’ which reminded me, i have some extremely well worn shoes that maybe i should be listing for $200+!

Thanks for clearing this up. I had seen these listings when looking up Solds and thought they must be selling drugs because the listings say the shoes are well worn and smelly, yet they are at the highest price of Solds. Glad it’s not drugs!

8-10 years ago, my wife decided she wanted to sell her hair. She has long, extremely thick natural blonde hair. I researched doing this online and alot of it seemed legit. I made a listing and started getting interested buyers. The questions and requests started getting weirder and weirder. They wanted her to shave her head, wanted to watch the cutting live on video to “confirm it was cut right”. They wanted to wire a money order immediately after watching the cutting. As the conversations got weirder I started researching what was really going on. There were many stories of women who had been conned into cutting their hair on video…
Yeah, we were never gonna get that money once the “money shot” was complete. Ugh….
Needless to say she ended up donating her hair.
I could see doing the pictures with feet in the shoes, but no way could I stomach the interaction that is required to “sell” the shoes.

If I had time to go down a rabbit hole, I think I’d look at this because I had the “can you send me a picture of you wearing these” before for a pair of shoes so now I want to know what is going on LOL.

I have an account with shoedazzle.com and most of their listings show shoes on a foot model, so that you can get an idea of how they would look. When I started selling on eBay I considered posting photos with a foot model for the same reason. It never occurred to me there may be a fetish about it! Yikes!

OMG! If I didn’t have to answer the questions or think about it in any way shape or form, I’d be in TOTALLY! LOL
So I am having my large toe nail removed in April. I wonder if that would be considered a turn on or a turn off?! LOL
WHY??? Cause she “flexes her foot so artfully? I’m in hysterics here!

You know, there must be a catch. Surely they don’t just send the shoes? They must include a bunch of photos or something. No way somebody is going to pay $100 for the couple foot photos on the eBay listing, right? Or am I missing something here? I’m probably missing something here…

I would think for some of the higher priced ones, there is additional requested photos. The more photos, the higher the price. That’s my assumption.
But you gotta think, for every buyer, you have to “entertain” dozens of tire kickers.
