Hey everyone!
So I work as a nurse when I’m not doing eBay. I have Figs Compression Socks I would like to sell. Tried them once and they didn’t work for me. They are $28 brand new, but apparently eBay counts them as underwear and therefore illegal to sell on Ebay. Anyone have experience with this or know what other platform I can sell used compression socks on?

How did eBay communicate with you that the socks are underwear and illegal to sell on eBay? Maybe just choose different item specifics when you list?
I see Figs compression socks for sale:

I’ve successfully sold compression socks, so that’s really odd. Check to see if you’re using the wrong category?
Otherwise, this is another new change in eBay. Sigh… -

The following is the red flag ebay gives me:
It looks like there’s a problem with this listing.
eBay doesn’t permit the sale of used underwear. In addition, listings for used clothing can’t indicate that the item hasn’t been properly cleaned. For more information on what can be sold, please visit our Used clothing policy (http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/used-clothing.html).All Figs compression socks that are being sold are brand new and therefore it doesn’t run into the above flag. I think you guys are right its a category issue. It classifies it as underwear which is strange to me. Socks can be washed and reworn, whereas I would never buy used underwear. Two different things completely! I took the links you sent me Jay and am going to post it there instead and we’ll see where it gets me. Thanks everyone for the help!

But Ebay allows vintage undergarments so vintage underwear can be sold as long as it’s not modeled or recently worn. I have sold vintage lingerie before and it’s definitely allowed. You just can’t sell the stuff that the fetish people look for (assuming used socks and non-vintage preowned undies are in this category).
Also, there are definitely guys modeling and selling used jock straps using the “new other” category on Ebay. I found this out the hard way when I was researching an item. If you want a laugh, search “vintage jock strap” and look at the solds too. Some of the pictures are really unbelievable but yet Ebay doesn’t pull the listings.

Ebay’s used clothing policy says: “What is the policy? Used underwear and socks are not allowed, even if they are clean.” Some sellers do get away with selling used socks. Like with many eBay prohibitions, some offending listings get taken down and some manage to fly under the radar.
Ebay decided at some point that it would not become a haven for foot fetishists. I learned that after I had a listing for a pair of used skateboard sneakers taken down several years ago. I had put “trashed” in the title since it was a thing with skaters. I called to ask why it was taken down and had an interesting discussion with the CSR about the issue.

Yeah, its a very gray zone. I’ve bought used Smart Wool socks on eBay. Good socks are expensive! So I dont mind buying some cleaned and lightly used.

eBay has been aggressive on things that can be sexualized, and I don’t think any used underwear is allowed. I understand that Jay found them for sale, but they don’t necessarily police rules like that uniformly. More serious things tend to get taken down with an automated system, but I have found that other things like VERO and medical supply violations get taken down sporadicly, which means some sales slip through in-between sweeps.
I just bought two pairs of Figs compression socks for my nurse girlfriend. If you can upload pics to imgur and post here, I will ask whether she is interested in more.

A couple of years ago Ebay suspended my account for 30 days for selling “adult items”. I wasn’t selling adult items. It took 3 calls and an hour but my account was restored. It seems to me that there is some sort of faulty trigger for pulling items down. These socks are brand new but they are flagging them as not allowed which is bizarre. I would just list them on Poshmark and Mercari and be done with it. I wouldn’t put them back on Ebay. FWIW, I started selling on both of those apps after Ebay suspended my account. Since they couldn’t explain why my account had been suspended I felt like having all my eggs in the Ebay basket was a bad idea.
