I took a little bit of a gamble early last week with a number of auctions of 1950s and 1960s South American oddball trading cards, here is one of the auctions that I won. I picked up about 300 of these cards total for just under a buck each — some lots were over a buck each and some were less than that. I also won about a dozen 1940s soccer cards from a set with a little more selling history in Terapeak (1942 Chocolatin Laponia) for between $1 and $5 each. This was an expensive buy and it’s slightly outside the areas that I have a lot of knowledge about, but I think this will be a profitable purchase as well as an educational one and I’m looking forward to doing the research this week and figuring out the best way to sell these.
What did you find this week?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/334893849999 This was from Goodwillfinds.com I paid about $30 I believe. It did have some minor flaws but I expect to do ok. Gorgeous work by this artist.
I also found this in my dad’s closet – it was my grandmothers. https://www.ebay.com/itm/334893894557 Probably not a popular style these days but I priced it up a bit since it’s bigger than the solds. The artist doesn’t seem to be famous.

Wow, pottery queen strikes gold again! That bowl is so beautiful. Amazing how something with that level of craftsmanship ends up donated to Goodwill…then posted on Goodwillfinds…and lucky to find it on there considering what a mishmash that site can be…plus you got it for a good price. I’ve browsed Goodwillfinds a few times in the last few weeks since you’ve been finding some neat stuff on there. Nothing for me yet. But I’ll keep trying.

There is definitely cool stuff on Goodwillfinds and it gets marked down. Most of the items I like are coming from the Pacific Northwest location. I was hoping people would forget about the site but about half of my liked items are selling when I check back at prices higher than I would pay. You can’t return, ask questions and the descriptions aren’t good – it’s a bit of a risk.

Boy howdy I hit some good ones this weekend! It’s so good that I’m leaving out multiple $100+ items. I’ll stick to the ones I actually listed.
GreenTech Environmental PureWash Pro Laundry System
https://www.ebay.com/itm/266285948233
I wish this was new, but it will still sell and quickly at that.
<div class=””></div>
<div>Ikea URSHULT LED Cabinet Light, Nickel Plated 602.604.05 – NEW</div>
<div>https://www.ebay.com/itm/266285925679</div>
<div>$2.99 each at Goodwill and they had 4 of them. This’ll be an easy $150+ profit.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Camp Chef Gen 2 Wifi Controller Pellet Grill</div>
<div>https://www.ebay.com/itm/266285903793</div>
<div>As I was checking out this was just sitting on the checkout counters for $12. While the cashier scanned my items I scanned this to see if it was anything special. The inital UPC scan showed zero listings, but in solds there were multiple at $200! Initial appearance it was new in box. Once I went to list it I realized it was definitely slightly used. The manual had a wiring diagram so I was able to test it.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Xbox 360 Guitar Hero RedOctane White X-Plorer Wired USB Controller Model 95065</div>
<div>https://www.ebay.com/itm/266282738149</div>
<div>It’s always worth checking guitar hero stuff . They seem to be increasing in value. Good thing too as I have a BUNCH in my storage building loft.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Honorable mentions:</div>
<div>A complete NES for $2 at a sale I hit on my lunchbreak Friday.</div>
<div>A complete set of golf clubs and shoes for $50. I have the shoes on ebay for $30 and the clubs on FBMP for $200. The clubs are Adams Golf Tight Lines. Not a high end set but still very nice and originally $400 for the set.</div>-

One more to add to the list:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/266288032897
Nike Kobe Bryant LA Lakers Retirement Trophy shirt rare 5X Champion GOAT sz XXL
I always pick up Kobe stuff so I knew this would be worth at least $20-30. Clearly it’s worth a bit more than that. Not bad for $1 at a yard sale.

Played around with some of the keywords in the title on your Kobe listing and I came up with this.
Nike DriFit Kobe Bryant T shirt XXL Los Angeles Lakers Retirement Trophy GOAT
The rule with card selling on eBay for 20+ years is squeeze in the full team name (city and nickname) to the title if you can. It’s less important now that there is so much flipping going on (a lot of buyers search for specific player and type of card) but there are still plenty of team collectors out there. I don’t deal in clothing nearly as much but the few times I’ve listed jerseys and things of that nature, I followed the same pattern and they sold. Make of that what you will. I’m sure your shirt will sell eventually regardless of title.
Kobe cards saw really huge sales spikes after his death. Autographs in particular but all of his cards to a certain degree. Prices are lower now, of course, but still well above where they were three years ago. I’ve had some good success selling a small lot of 10 Lakers cards in the $20 range once I started adding a $3 Kobe card. His cards might even carry more weight than LeBron who IMO is the real GOAT, but I won’t tell your shirt buyer that.

Also, your week of scavenging has to be one for the end of year best of. What a Goodwill you have near you. Where did you find the golf clubs? And what were the runners up to your honorable mentions?

Golf clubs at a yard sale. I actually already sold the shoes for $25.
I have a bag I haven’t went through yet still in my wife’s van and I can’t remember what is in it.
I am in process of listing a pair of these:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/295330354588?hash=item44c30f959c%3Ag%3A-XsAAOSw1-1jbce0&LH_ItemCondition=4
It think there is 2-3 more pair of shoes in the $100 range. A cricut machine worth around $75 with all the accessories it came with. A serger sewing machine – $125. A shower hydromassage thing new in box that is worth about $75 (bummer – I was hoping it was worth more). A jeep OEM radio, $75-100. Ralph lauren jeans worth $100. NiB TMNT dress up toy that I’m listing for $100 that will sell in christmas season.
I’ve sold so many OEM cd/cassette car radios over the years for $100+. It’s almost always a dealer that buys them. I look up the wiring diagrams so I can put power to them on a test bench and test out the cassette and CD players to list as 100% functional to get top dollar.

One of the pair of $100+ shoes I had forgot about. I listed them this morning for $200 – shooting for the moon. Sent an offer of $175. Got a counter for $100. I went ahead and took it – no need to be greedy. $100 is still higher than any other comp in terapeak, and I was actually going to list it at $99.99 before changing my mind.
Sold in less than 2 hours.
If you ever see an old pair of dress shoes with that v-nail on the sole – that is a BOLO.
