Pretty quiet week of scavenging for me. I added another guitar pickguard signed by folk singer Bert Jansch for $15 and in the same order, a new type of item — this vintage dog family toy set for $8. Terapeak solds looked pretty good, and I’ve cleared out a lot of space for new inventory in the last couple months, so I figured for that price, why not.
My card buy of the week was probably this set of 2016 Topps Star Wars tribute jumbos all /99 for $15, about $1 each since it’s a $15 card set. The consignment company I use charges an extra couple bucks for oversized items, so I’ll probably send in half of these and the other half will go in my new bin for oversized card items which don’t quite make the cut for consignment. That will be a fun sorting project for the dog days of summer!
What did you find this week?

@craig-rex Take care when you’re opening the battery compartment of your ‘Mother dog’. The old alkaline batteries can leak and dry up to leave some nasty dust. As I found out last week <cough>

I made a boo boo and bought two large faux candle lanterns (modern) for an upcoming night market. On one the springs came out with the battery. Is that hard to fix? TY

Could try packing the batteries in with some aluminium foil in place of the springs. The contacts (flat plate at one end, spring at the other) tend to be soldered to wires attached to the printed circuit board, so it’s a bit fiddly to do a permanent fix.

I’m trying to get my yard sale pickups listed same weekend this summer. Here were some of my best scavenges.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/267271949347
Sizzix Big Shot Stampin Up Die Cutting Embossing Machine & Multipurpose Platform
Paid $10.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/267271949675
EATON CHSPT2ULTRA Complete Home Surge Protection Surgetrap Type 2 SPD 10800 Amps
I picked up 4 of these for $80. Once I listed them though, only these were higher dollar. The other two only sell for $50. Still, $80 into $300 is great!

GUITAR HERO PS3 Dongle Red Octane Model 95121.806 LES PAUL Wireless Receiver USB
Guitar hero dongles are extreme BOLO. Paid less than $1.

Lectron Tesla To J1772 Charger Adapter 250v Charging Electric Vehicle 48A – New
Paid $5. It was marked 10 but I found a nice messenger bag that will sell for $40-50 to bundle both for $10.

Herbert Ryman Disney Cinderella Castle Serigraph Framed 198/200 Imagineering
Boy I REALLY debated on buying this one. It’s sooooooo big and the matte is in rough shape. I picked this up Friday during my lunch break for $90. I told myself that I had to get it listed and stored immediately – no death pile addition. I fulfilled my mission and now I don’t care how long it sits. There is one other listed for sale at the same price on another platform and there is one worthpoint entry for print only. I don’t have a worthpoint so I don’t know what it sold for. I do know that this cost about $1600 when it was purchased at Disney World originally.
My hope is that someone will offer me over $1k in the near future so I can move it on.

I didn’t feel like going to the Flea last week but was so happy I did – got a Vera Neumann scarf for $1 and a signed David Weidman serigraph for $25.
