From the dollar bin this week, this authenticated signed Mario Andretti fan should be an easy $20 to $40 profit to the first buyer who sees it as cool and not cursed. I love selling weird one-off items like this, creating the titles is fun.
I added another small pile of signed military documents at $3 to $5 each, which will go into a box that I plan to tackle the second or third week of May. I love researching these kinds of items to find the rare/collectible signatures, and then will put the rest into a lot listing. I think this will be my business model in the near future as my spring cleaning turns into spring and summer cleaning. It’s fun seeing my business change.
What did you find this week?

Yay there were yard sales this week! I scored a handful of cool things, but I promptly buried them as I had to condense my van to make room to buy a new lawn mower.
Off hand I can remember a Nu Wave induction cooktop, a Mountain Hardwear Fleece jacket, a handful of Xbox One games, some Dyson vacuum accessories. Ah man there was something else really good ($100+ item) but this was a whirlwind weekend and I forgot!
Yesterday we did our weekly Goodwill trip. The highlight was a vintage Harley Davidson leather jacket. It is nearly identical to this one:

You know it’s a good week when you have so much good stuff that you can’t really remember it all! What did you pay for the Harley jacket? I’ve wanted to find one of those at a thrift store forever…

This Goodwill did me a favor and jacked their jacket/coat prices through the roof. So I only buy the heavy hitters now and ignore all the bread n butter items. I paid $15 for this jacket.
Their jackets range from $10-20 now, even for junky Walmart ones.

I was on my way to Trader Joe’s this Saturday when I saw a sign for an estate sale. It had not been advertised online, which is the best type. There were lots of interesting things, but most were too large for me to store. On my way out, I found some cabbage pieces from Bordallo Pinheiro, one of my favorites. I bought a platter and bowl set plus a pitcher for $13. I will probably sell the bowl and platter separately. I found the platter on Replacements (link below), but they do not have any in stock. Someone has one on Mecari for $75. I will most likely list the items on Ruby Lane.

It was pouring this weekend and nothing was going on BUT there was an online estate sale (not common here). I had so much fun joining in and bought about $100 worth of items. One nice Mid Century artwork, some folding shelves and tables for my live booth, a large lucite craft drawer kit, and an awesome Orla Kiely carry on suitcase. I got two nice small rolling travel bags, vintage ash trays, and some art books I don’t need that I’m hoping will pay for some or most of this spend. That could be addicting! The artwork does have some browning, so it’s a little hard bidding online, but I’m still glad I bought it. It is a signed and number piece by this guy I’m pretty sure https://www.invaluable.com/artist/foss-oliver-kxe2lnxlfp/sold-at-auction-prices/
I’m still an art novice, so I have to figure out how to describe it. Not a painting, not a lithograph. Serigraph maybe? https://imgur.com/gallery/55f5mEQ

@christiner This bunch have their Oliver Foss print described as a lithograph “signed in stone”. It appears to be backed onto canvas.
There was a TV series on Lots Road Auctions (“The Auction House”)- appears to be now available on YouTube. ARR is artist’s resale right- the artist gets 4% royalty on any artwork over £1000 up to 70 years after their death. ARR me hearty, there be buckets o’ gold in this here auction business.

I’ve seen mostly O. Stone online and mine has a longer signature but it seems to fit.
