This week of sales was highlighted by one buyer who purchased 3 large lots of graded cards in the same order. They sent a $300 offer on this listing and messaged about wanting the other two similar size listings that I had. “I don’t have a huge budget,” they said, but their offers were right around my minimum offer setting. I love making big deals, so I was very happy with that. My net sales on the three lots were just over $700 and my COGS was in the range of $300-$350. Not bad! Over 20 pounds of graded cards (about 150) are in transit right now. Take good care of my box, USPS.
I had a few other big (large) orders to ship on the same day as the big box of graded cards. My favorite was this basketball signed by college guard Nolan Hickman. Bought on August 11th for $0.99 + shipping as part of a larger order (I put my COGS as $8) and sold this past weekend for $55 + $9.99 shipping (not nearly high enough shipping for such an enormous box), but my net was still $20.12.
I did better on this Chicago Cubs helmet signed by David Ross, who was their catcher for a while and later their manager. Bought in June for $15, sold last week for $40 + $9.99 shipping, net of $31.37.
This Tom Glavine signed Braves jersey was a similar story, net of $37.65 with a COGS of about $20, bought back in May. This was one of my earlier signed jersey purchases. I’ve since learned that a $20 COGS is higher than I’d like to pay, unless it’s a rare signer or unique jersey. Glavine, who played in the 90s-2000s and still signs autographs for cards almost every year, was a great pitcher (Hall of Famer even) but his autos just aren’t worth as much as some players who sign less frequently. It’s still nice to move this older inventory and make a few bucks on it. My gut instinct wasn’t perfect, but it was pretty decent!
Here’s a fun one: I sold two copies of this Victor Espinoza signed horse bet slip on back to back days. A few cents under $25 net on each one and my COGS was under $5. I have two more, but I bumped the price up since the first two sold so fast, so those might sit for a while.
One last nice sale: this World War 2 authenticated photo for a hair over $100 net. Purchased back in January for $30. I won auctions for two authenticated WWII photos on the same day, this one for $30 and another for $40, and I’ve sold both of them. One for $125, this one for $135. Wouldn’t it be nice to find deals like that every day?
What did you sell this week?

USS Texas shelling Omaha beach. The brown stain in the middle’s due to inadequate fixing (if I remember correctly) so the darkroom assistant was in a hurry! Just like the maybe fictional one that melted Robert Capa’s D-Day negatives.

I always like to imagine what kind of autograph policy I would have if I was a celebrity. First off, the resellers who show up at airports with giant boards of stuff for autos – they can pound sand. That’s disgusting and very intrusive.
If I was a big enough star, I’d want to have an aid pull in 2-3 kids and their families every game/event to come back stage to have an interaction and give some personalized signed merch.
Autographs, I’d want to stick to kids and at least get their name so the auto is personalized. No generic autos unless I’m doing a bulk signing…which I wouldn’t do!
If I’m out n about with family no autographs or selfies, but a quick hello and handshake would be fine as long as I’m not busy with family.-

Only celebrity I’ve asked for an autograph was Don van Vliet. He spent a couple of minutes doing a miniature artwork, put my name at the top, and signed it. That’s because I knew the correct answer to “What are you expecting to hear tonight?” was Trout Mask Replica, and not Bluejeans and Moonbeams, like the girl behind me answered.
Still got it.

Mcdonalds happy Meal Toys HUGE LOT of 142 most sealed 80’s 90’s
So I had 5 boxes of happy meal toys from the vintage toy yard sale haul earlier this summer. I sorted it all out and then did my research. Some stuff was listed individually, some was lotted up, and everything in this listing is the stuff that just wasn’t even worth listing. So into one GIANT lot it went. Sold on offer for $30. This is my favorite sale of this week.

Tusa Imprex Regulator SCUBA Untested
I actually sold 2 of these this week. One for full price, the other on offer for $50. They came from a big box of scuba stuff I got a yard sale for $10. I’ve already made over $200 from that buy. I think I have 2 items left.

Tecmo Super Bowl SNES Cart Only Cleaned New Battery Tested
One of the SNES games I got on an ask at a yard sale this summer. AN NES and a stack of games for $20. I thoroughly cleaned all the games and replaced the batteries if needed. That extra work was worth it as I got full price $30 for this game. The loose cart ebay average is only $15, so I definitely got the premium price!
