I had another nice week of sales which is encouraging because you don’t always get an immediate payoff when you put in the work, sometimes it can take weeks or even months. But I’ve been putting in the work lately and seeing results.
I sold this vintage collectible book for an offer of $60 + $50 international shipping to the UK — it’s a 6 pound behemoth so the shipping will eat into my profit quite a bit, but I’m still thrilled with this kind of sale for something that cost me maybe $5 at most. Right now I look at these kinds of items as an education where I make a couple bucks along the way.
Also sold a martial arts DVD for my asking price of $30. It had been sitting with no movement for at least 3 years (judging by the desk in my pictures) and sold after ending, running at auction with a $15 start price, no one bid and selling similar on the unsold listing. Then a day later the buyer pops up and hits the BIN. Funny how that works.
What did you sell this week?

Vintage Masonic Shriner Fez with Case Beni Kedem Flying Fezzes
I picked up this shriner hat last weekend for $5. I had a buyer send me an offer on the box only for $24. Sold! I redid the listing and edited out the box and immediately sold the hat as well for $30.

Ikea URSHULT LED Cabinet Light, Nickel Plated 602.604.05 – NEW
Also a last weekend pickup. I got an offer for $150 for all 4. That works for me! I paid $3 each.

Converse All Star Chucks The Who England 2008 YEARHOUR Limited Edition M 6 W 8
Took an offer yesterday for $100. These have been listed for just over 3 years so I couldn’t jump on that offer quickly enough! How in the world has 3 years past since I listed these???

Ikea stuff can be nice flips. I love the way you doubled your money on the Freemason fez hat. Kind of surprising the original buyer didn’t just buy both at the lower price…but that’s the thinking of a collector, not a scavenger.

I would have totally sold the whole thing for the price he paid as I was in the mood to move items. I’m glad he was adamant on the box!

It was a very lower dollar kind of week but this was a fun vintage item I sold. I love to buy nautical stuff. https://www.ebay.com/itm/334797718341

That’s a cool sale! My favorite scavenges/sales are many times the oddball items that catch my eye and I just know someone would want it and pay good money even though I have no verifiable data to back my gut feeling.

Agree. It just spoke to me. With this item and another recent one I initially thought they might be unique but found them on Google lens while listing and they are not that rare. Still both sold in a few weeks on the higher pricing end of solds, so I’m happy.

My best sale of the week was $299.95 for a Singer Sewhandy Model 20 child’s sewing machine from the 1950’s. This one was in excellent condition and had the 100th anniversary medallion, which seems to make it a bit more valuable. Paid up for it at auction ($85) knowing it was something special and would likely sell quickly. Listing is for eBay but it sold on Etsy for full asking price.

That’s an amazing looking sewing machine for its age! Great eye. It’s interesting that it sold on Etsy. I have a few friends who use that platform a lot (mostly for vintage clothes and handmade/custom items) and I would never guess that there’s a market for weird old vintage stuff on there, too. But considering the customer base, it makes sense. Great sale!
