Compared to a year ago, my numbers this week were extraordinary, up over 100%. I took a short fourth of July vacation, so that’s a factor, but my sell-through rate is higher now and I created a lot of new listings this week with plenty more good items in the queue. So, despite the expectation of slow summer sales, I predict that my numbers will look good over the next few weeks. I would love if it I can get some
springsummer cleaning done later this week as well and maintain this momentum into August. I have a couple flat rate boxes in mind, just need to make the time to photograph and figure out storage. Creating the listing is always the easy part once you get pictures done.Another piece of Elvis left the apartment this week — these Elvis relics are consignment pickups which I make about $5ish profit compared to simply cashing out the store credit for a 10% fee. But what kind of reseller says no to a few bonus bucks from low effort arbitrage? Take profits everywhere and anywhere you can get them, that’s my philosophy.
A recent scavenge of the week found its forever home, this Lord Horatio Nelson battle flag relic from the quirky, excellent and rarely seen 2011 Goodwin Museum Collection set. Purchased for $60 on May 21, sold for an offer of $285 with a net of $235. Cards like these really make me grateful for the time I spend each and every week scrolling through thousands of auction listings. The only other sale of this card in the last three years was for $325. I listed mine at $400 and perhaps could have held out for more, but this buyer has bought a few high-end cards from me and I negotiated them up slightly from their initial offer. So everyone wins! I’d love to come across another card from this set someday — other highlights from the set include Annie Oakley’s gun, King Edward VIII’s handkerchief and memorabilia the Spirit of St. Louis.
I have been doing brisk business in 10 card lots sorted by team, with another 15 sold this week, including multiple sales of Cincinnati Reds and Denver Broncos lots. This means those teams will be at the top of the queue to get scanned and listed again, maybe as soon as tonight once I finish packing everything from a very busy holiday weekend of sales.
What did you sell this week?

Those 10 card lots are pretty cool. Rookies, specialty cards, current players, and a team legend.
I wish my kids would have taken an interest in pro sports so I could get them one of these lots, but they have ZERO interest in any pro sport. We have a local pro team that used to be a minor league team a few years ago.
https://dirtybirdsbaseball.com/I saw Oneil Cruz play a bunch of times when they were a single A minor league (WV Power) team and I knew he’d be special.
I went to a ball game 2 weeks ago and was surprised to see that Clint Frasier and Delino DeShields Jr are on the team. I always got a kick out of Clint Frazier since he combined my two passions – baseball and awesome shoes.

Thanks man, I really have started to enjoy the process of making these lots more and more, from finding the cards to keeping the inventory organized to putting them in hard cases and spending an hour in front of the scanner every few days to get the photos done. Creating the listings is the easy part. It has taken me the last couple years to build up a knowledge bank where I don’t need to constantly have Google open to know which players are good and which ones are the bust players whose cards should be avoided add all costs. Just have to keep an eye on the sports news for who is traded, who is sent to the minors, who is the star player this week. And of course, the quality of the cards matters most of all.
Clint Frazier had some HYPE behind him a few years ago when he was on the Yankees. Glad to see he’s still out there chasing his dreams and rocking some nice kicks. Minor league games are a fun experience, especially for young kids. I went to a game at the Somerset Patriots, a Yankees minor league team, a few weeks ago. $10 for a seat about twenty rows behind home plate, talk about scavenger’s prices.

Some interesting brand names to keep in mind on your list…I’ve heard of Jimmy Choo and Louboutin but the smaller brands are the ones that I really file away for possible future reference. However, that doll is terrifying and I regret clicking on the link to your listing. I can’t believe someone would willingly buy that for any price. I will NOT Google image search Corky dolls before bed tonight…
