I decided to run a quick batch of 5 day auctions ending last Monday on the off chance eBay ran some kind of promo for the federal holiday. Sometimes I miss the heyday of eBay bucks, but eBay as a selling platform has improved so much since then. It’s so much easier to connect with interested buyers and sell your items. I don’t care if the haters disagree.
Sold this huge New York Institute of Photography binder for $25 (which was my opening bid price) and these gray Adidas sneakers for the same price. Also sold another $20 4 pound etched crystal of Green Bay Packers former QB Brett Favre — RIP to that pipeline as I’m down to my last one. My net profits were in the $10 range on all of these, not because of COGS but because of shipping. I like doing flat rate shipping for everything and I send a lot of this weird stuff priority mail. My profits are lower but my peace of mind is very high.
My favorite sale of the week was this set of James Burke’s Connections DVDs, a $5 library sale find that went for my full asking price of $70. Another data point to add to what @retro-treasures-wv discussed last week with hard to find wrestling media. There is a lot of profit potential in physical media even in our highly digital world.
What did you sell this week?

Nothing of special note today – my ebay store was DEAD. June is never spectacular, so it is what it is.
The Walking Dead Graphic Novels Volumes 1-8 Comics

One of my yard sale pickups recently. I took an offer of $40 just to get a sale. I basically negotiated these in for free when I built a pile at a yard sale.
Adidas Mens Tubular Shadow BB8974 Brown Running Shoes Sneakers Size 11.5
https://www.ebay.com/itm/266282861376
This sale is a textbook example of my sourcing rules – good STR and $50+ item. I took an offer of $50 – again just because my store was so dead all week. They would have sold for full price if I had waited a few more weeks. I did pay up at $10 for these since the local goodwills just get more and more expensive and individually price shoes now. As long as the numbers make sense (Sale price and STR), the COGS really don’t matter.

<div>Black and Decker MATRIX Reciprocating Saw Attachment</div>

<div>I picked up two of these matrix tools a couple months back for $4 each at goodwill during my period of not listing. Both sold quickly within 3 weeks of listing. I looked at those things sitting on a shelf for months unlisted. It is easy to get frustrated that they weren’t listed, but you have to buy the good stuff when it is available not when it is convenient. Thankfully this is not my main income and I can afford to sit on unlisted cheap inventory.</div>

This scavenge of the week from a couple of weeks ago sold for $110.

Also had this sale for $50 BO floor price. It sold within hours of listing. There were no sold comps with a thermometer and several were listed so it was hard to price. I guess I undervalued it, but I paid $2.50 so I’m super good with it.

That fabric is so visually striking, I’m so glad that you got full price for it. Did the buyer let you know what they were using it for? I always get curious about the types of projects which lead to people spending $100+ on eBay for 2 yards of fabric.

Nope but I’m guessing kids’ curtains maybe.
