Looking back at the numbers, I had a less busy week than I might have thought with 16 items sold. There were some large sales in there which led to me clearing the $1000 mark gross, but some high seller fees (mostly shipping costs) brought my net down to a few bucks under $600. Still, a solid week considering that I spend maybe 15 hours a week on eBay between photographing, listing and shipping, and most of that is the photography (scanning my card lots) while doing the grunt work for my card consignment business. Creating new listings and packing up sold items take up very little time.
The big ticket sales of this week were two individual cards that had been in my store for quite a while, surprisingly both football even though it’s the offseason. It’s like the exact middle dead point of the offseason too, so I think if you’re into football cards, you’re really hunting for steals right now. I wouldn’t call either of these solds steals, but probably decent prices compared to a potential sale during the season. And both of these players have big potential as wide receivers for up and coming teams. I received offers of $180 for each card and accepted both offers, and they’re both making their way through eBay’s authentication process right now. I used to sweat these bigger sales until I got that positive feedback. But now I just pack up and ship to authentication, no big deal. Luv ya eBay! Thanks for making it a breeze to sell more expensive cards!
This Jordan Addison 2023 Panini Select tie dye prizm RC /25 PSA 10 had been listed since March. I acquired the card in a message board “junk trade” which is where I trade hundreds of cheaper cards (“junk” autographs and jerseys which typically sell for $2 or less) for more expensive cards. The trader I dealt with for this trade hasn’t posted a thread since our March trade, but I really wish he would because he offers the best deals and just a friendly person. Come back, Brian! I’ve got more junk than sense! Save me from my mess!
This Rome Odunze 2024 Panini National VIP giraffe prizm RC sold just about one week after it was part of my last sell similar, on May 23rd. Here is a weird sentence about ultra-modern cards: giraffe prizms are the most collected of all the animal prizm parallels from Panini’s VIP packs which they give out at the annual National card show in July. They are rarer than zebras and tigers (no lion prizms, oh my) and honestly, in hand they look great. I bought this card for about $25 last fall. The original listing had such a bad title that I can’t even find the purchased listing in my emails.
A couple larger item solds to go along with the $$$ sales. I bought this framed signed photo of Patriots Darryl Stingley back in May of 2023 for $20, and my net was $39.32. Not my best sale, in terms of time/profit and how large the item is, but I really love these little slices of history, and Darryl Stingley has quite the story. Stingley was a 1980s wide receiver for the Patriots who was sadly paralyzed a few seasons into his career. He led quite the interesting post-injury life including writing a memoir and working for the Patriots in personnel decisions as well as creating a non-profit. Stingley passed away in 2007. His grandson Derek Stingley Jr is actually a top defensive cornerback for the Houston Texans.
The other large item I sold this week was this Jackie Robinson 50th anniversary full sized bat for a net of $52.53. This was a pretty recent pickup from April for about $30. Since I purchased that listing, this consignment seller has listed about 6 or 7 more of these bats. My bids were quite a bit lower and I did not win any of those auctions. Probably for the best, but I’d love to find more of these bats in the $10 to $20 range.
What did you sell this week?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/235819204325 Sold this small watercolor painting and this large platter. https://www.ebay.com/itm/235937449878
Items I personally like but took quite a long time to sell. Happily I sold this in one day https://www.ebay.com/itm/236137080030 It’s interesting because there were others around this price and apparently it was once sold out, but now available for about this price on the original seller’s website.
@Craig great sales! Happy for you to be all dialed in and having good sales. 🙂
