A bit of a slower week for me, but a good chunk of my potential customer base was at the National card show in Cleveland. I spent the week getting myself really organized, probably the most progress I’ve made on that in the last few months. I cleared off one wall completely and now it is lined with a nice row of ten (10!) postal bins with a variety of stuff in them. Three or four bins completely full of sports related memorabilia, at least one bin with larger lots of cards which won’t fit on my flatbed scanner, one or two bins of weird books and media, and some random one-off items. Plus a small section with oversized items which don’t fit in the bins. Mostly comic book related action figures and a handful of framed items (artwork and autographs). Not the types of items I normally sell, but when you find good deals, sometimes you end up with this random stuff. I’ve never been great about getting it listed and sold. But I’m getting there1
Some of these items will get listed as is, some will get grouped together and sold in a lot, some will get donated or trashed. The photography will start this week. August and September are going to be a lot of fun.
In the meantime, I managed to hit $1000 gross last week despite only listing about 25 items throughout the week. I did not sell a single item for over $100, though this Loki 2022 Marvel Jambalaya insert came close at $95. Jambalaya was one of the biggest rare 1990s inserts, beautiful cards in-hand. Upper Deck has been remaking Jambalayas as a rare insert in various sets for 25 years now, and as you can tell from my sold price, the market is still strong. Paid about $30 for the card via auction. The buyer took a few days to pay but I never mind waiting or even having to cancel for unpaid item. It’s all a cost of doing business.
Another Elvis memorabilia card has left my apartment, with this piece of plaid pajamas going for my full price of $30. This is the eighth Elvis memorabilia card I’ve sold in the last five weeks. I picked them up on the consignment site I use for between $8 and $15, mostly to save myself the 10% cash out fee. I shipped my last two or three to me when I did my weekly shipment request late last week, and now the lowest priced ones on the site are around $25, so it’s time to move on to something else. I liked selling Elvis cards, but I’m not all shook up about needing to find a new honeyhole — that’s one of my favorite things about reselling cards. There are always new sets and types of cards which sell for nice prices.
I had another sale in a relatively new niche with this signed full sized Tyler Biadasz Dallas Cowboys jersey going for $37.49, a 20% offer to watcher, which left me with a net was $26.62. I paid $15 for it, so not a huge profit, but I love selling things slightly outside my comfort zone. I have a bunch of jerseys in one of my bins where I kept my COGS on each one under $10, which is where I want to keep it for random signed jerseys going forward.
What did you sell this week?

Whirlpool Dryer Blower Motor Assembly 279787 WP697772 W1088146 8538263 Maytag #3
This is from my old dryer that I got tired of repairing. The element went out again so since I knew every other part was good I parted it out. This was the last remaining part. I made enough to cover the cost of the NEW dryer! That’s kinda messed up isn’t it?

BMW OEM E38 E39 E53 740 750 540 M5 X5 WIDE SCREEN NAVIGATION RADIO MONITOR GPS 2
I bought this at one of the local thrift chains in Columbus. I stick to Goodwills typically in Columbus as the other chains like Savers or Ohio Thrift are insanely priced. I take it as a challenge when I go into a store like this. I’m going to find something that they missed, and this item was that thing. Sold on offer for $160. Paid $15.

ELNA Compact Lotus TSP sewing machine No Foot Pedal Vintage Untested
One of the list in place shelf items. It sold very quickly on offer for $150. Not bad for untested. I paid a couple bucks at goodwill.

Vintage Doctors Head Mirror In Box Bausch And Lomb
Sold for full price. This was from a big lot of vintage doctor’s equipment I got last summer at a yard sale. i still have a giant bin of this stuff I haven’t listed.

K-Line K721-5101 O Gauge Coca-Cola Operating Searchlight Car #7215101
Paid $1 for this item. Sold for full price. I enjoy selling train stuff, but I don’t come across it very often.

SALVATORE FERRAGAMO PARIGI DRIVER LOAFER BUC SUEDE SIZE 10 E Green Alloro
A pair of hoarder shoes. Sold on offer for $375.

Panasonic RX-DS45 Boombox CD Cassette AM/FM & Aux. Stereo No Remote Tested Works
Another list in place shelf item. Sold on offer for $75. It is equal parts happiness and frustration when an item that has sat for many years on a death pile shelf sells within a day or two after listing. I have LOTS of high value items like this unlisted…

https://www.ebay.com/itm/235262500427 Super interesting flea market pick. Paid $3. I bought two more nautical theme ones.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/335392834723 Sold this item my parents bought on their honeymoon in 1967. More stuff from their house and my grandma’s in the corner of my garage that I haven’t gotten to yet.
I’ve sold a lot of the bags from the QVC flea market pick up. I still have a few more to list. Just goes to show you that one yard sale or vendor can really spin off a great little pipeline. Another argument for not picking up a bunch of low dollar that takes up your space.
