While my scavenges this week weren’t that exciting, I had a lot of good candidates for sale of the week in a slightly above average week of sales.
Found this signed vintage baseball autobiography at a library sale for a couple bucks, sold it for $45 which was a 20% offer off my asking price. Highly recommend going 20% or higher if you send offers — this seems to be the number where buyers start to get much more likely to buy.
I’ve had this French Depardieu Masters of Cinema 2 disc DVD for an incredibly long time — 3-4 years — and have cycled through auction, relist, sell similar, and changing the price countless times with no action. Then it sells this week for $25, $5 off my buy it now price, despite the fact that a lower priced listing was available. Score one for not using stock photos, I guess.
After this signed Harlan Stone sesquicentennial stamp sold, I’m down to my last one, closing the book on one of my largest purchases from a few years ago. I looked up the original purchases — from 2019 — and I bought a dozen of these stamps. Spent around $35 on each one and sold most of them in the $50 to $75 range, with a few early sales over $100. I sold more of these signed Supreme Court stamps in the last three months than I did in the previous three years as I found the right price range. Not necessarily a purchase I’d make again, but I did make a couple hundred bucks in the end, even after fees.
This Bowman Chrome 1st autograph of New York Yankees pitcher Domingo German was a $5 card until he pitched the 24th perfect game in major league history a few weeks, and now mine sold for $76. That was a good sale, prices have been dropping steadily since they peaked right after his incredible game. I have one or two more and will be happy to get $50 each for them. This is an outlier in modern card selling, prices don’t fluctuate to this degree for every player and every card, but it is also a good representation of how the market can work. German was a nondescript, average pitcher before his perfect game and will most likely be a nondescript, average pitcher going forward. But he will always have his perfect game, it was amazing to watch, and that’s enough to spark more interest in his cards from collectors and flippers. A year from now prices for this card will likely be closer to $5 than $50 though.
My favorite sale of the week is this flat rate box of anime DVDs for $55.99 plus appropriate shipping (the order total was just over $80 with tax), all leftovers from a big scavenge at a library sale a few months back. I made profit on that sale back in May from the $180 Berserk Box of War set (which strangely doesn’t show up in Terapeak) but it’s nice to take all these $1 and $2 leftovers (none list for more than $10 individually), put them in a box, snap a few pictures and make an extra $40 or so profit. I can understand it from the buyer’s end too — much easier to buy one lot listing than search for each DVD set individually and pay shipping on each one and get frustrated when one or two sellers send a junk item or don’t send at all. This was another listings which sold for a 20 percent off offer, and the listing had 6 to 8 watchers for quite a while. A good enough outcome to keep me motivated to make more of these types of listings.
What did you sell this week?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/334893832503 Goodwillfinds.com purchase. They started these higher than this. I watched it until they got down to about $30 plus a free shipping promotion. Just took a few weeks to sell. Happy with that profit. This is the second of about 5 items I bought for resale. They have all been packed very well. Some of the listings are poor though.
I feel like Goodwillfinds is going pretty well for them. I forget to check in until they are running a promo and many of my favorited items are selling higher than I want to pay. Also the amazing early shipping cost doesn’t seem to be so amazing anymore. Worth a look still. Also I read recently that some other Goodwills are still on Shopgoodwill.com. I haven’t been looking over there.

Vintage Walker & Hall Silver Plate Dinnerware set 6 Settings 1950’s
I picked this set up at a local independent thrift that supports animal shelters. Paid $25 on 50% off day. Took a while to sell – took a $200 offer.

Ralph Lauren Black Label Tactical Utility Pocket Cargo Polo Men’s Size 38×32
My special nerd touch in the description:
“So many pockets and pouches that you’d swear Rob Liefeld designed these!”
Would I have loved to get more? Yes. Am I happy with a $175 sale to keep my cash flow nice & healthy? Also yes.

Vintage Audio Cassette Tape Holder Carry Case Storage Travel Retro 60-count
$3 at Goodwill. Vintage cassette holders always do quite well. The tackier the better!
https://www.ebay.com/itm/266345440328
Polo Ralph Lauren Black Alligator Crocodile Penny Loafers Men’s Size 11.5 E
Another used pair of premium hoarder shoes. The original plan was that the used shoes were just icing on the cake. I barely even glanced at them when I bought it all. These sold for $160 on an offer the same day I listed it – yesterday.
I’m very happy I switched gears and went for the ‘faster’ nickel and two pennies instead of waiting for the slow dime. There’s just too much stuff and too little space.

Terapeak’s data is highly suspect, but good for a quick reference.
There was a pair of jeans I have that showed a sale in terapeak for over $1k on BID with 17 bids. All the other sold items (not the same pair but similar) sold for $50-100
I asked about it on the BOSS reseller group on facebook and other’s told me it was a terapeak glitch. They were right as my auction did nothing but garner offers in the $60-80 range. The cool thing about terapeak is that you can see what best offer items actually sold for. I’ve tried drilling down on specific items to get the price, but it never finds the item in a specific search of the actual item title.
