Hi All,
So, here is my situation – I want to return the fake-lite bangle I bought that is not as described. I made a return request – (wrote about this in another post) The seller was argumentative with me, but said, “Return it to me at this address… I will inspect it and let you know…” Implied she would refund me, but I didn’t like her tone or the fact that she wants to “inspect” first – it just may be her “opinion” that she is right and I am wrong. (I uploaded a few “evidence” pictures after our email exchange to the case. One showing a failed Simichrome test – not that eBay will understand what that is … and another of the crack which she did not disclose.)
Because she did not “Accept” the return but is using the “Send message to Seller” option – the Return has not officially been opened.
I am planning to call Ebay tomorrow to step in to resolve. At this point, do you think they will just refund my money? Or will I have to return this item first?
In an instance of INAD, isn’t the Seller supposed to send a Return Shipping label and pay for return shipping? I am not exactly sure how that works – but just on principle I’m not going to pay for this shipping. Has anyone been through this and can share some advice or insight?
Thank you!

I didn’t see your other post, so maybe you mentioned this, but: what’s the seller’s stated return policy?

The seller does not accept returns.

As MyCottage links to, you can always return an item no matter what if you feel it’s Not As Described.
Obviously this seller probably won’t be easy to deal with. It’s so strange because you can leave him negative feedback if he handles the return badly. It’s really a no-win situation for the seller. Just accept returns everyone.
How much is the item worth? Curious what he’s fighting over.

after you call ebay, let us know what happens. i thought that even if the buyer ‘does not accept returns’ they can provide you with a label. as they should if it’s INAD (we all have to!).

Hi Everyone,
To anyone who might care to read this: I wanted to follow up on this return situation… Here is what happened.
(To-recap, I bought a “bakelite bracelet” which had damage and tested negative for bakelite. The seller had a “no return” policy. I initiated a return request and the seller asked me to send it back for her to examine the bracelet before the refund. She made excuses that there was no damage and that she was “told” it was bakelite, etc.)
* She did not officially approve my request.
* I waited until the very first day I could ask eBay to step in. I uploaded “evidence” pictures to the return case for eBay to see.
* While I was on the PHONE with Ebay… she accepted the return (what, like 4 days later???)
* When I talked to a rep, I explained that this was an Item Not Described Situation – and the eBay rep escalated the case and then closed it in my favor.
* She made the “Print A Label” (Prepaid) appear for me.
* I packaged up the bracelet and sent it back, uploaded tracking.
* The package arrived today and the refund amount was automatically deposited into Paypal. I did not have to talk or deal with the seller at all.(Too bad, she should have accepted the return immediately or issued a refund… now she has a defect to boot…) but at least I feel that I was made whole.
