I received an email today from eBay stating that I have some listings missing product identifiers. The email did not indicate which listings need updating though. It says “Starting this week, you will no longer be able to relist non-Good ‘Til Cancelled items without including valid product identifiers. And, starting the week of September 18, 2017, your Good ‘Till Cancelled listings won’t automatically renew until valid product identifiers are provided.” Not sure how to proceed with checking thousands of listings. Did anyone else receive this email?

Yes, I received it too. If anyone knows how to find the affected listings, I’d appreciate it. I didn’t see any links to help me do that..
Thanks

Although I did not receive such an email, I would offer that if eBay has identified certain items that need updating, they have a record of it. You may want to call them to request a list of the items and the identifiers they have flagged that need to be on listings. Moreover, if for any reason they are not able to provide you with a list, based on what you shared, it seems to me that the items will be identified once they have ended and you need to relist them or once they come up for automatic renewal. I have noticed that eBay has put alerts in listings when something is not correct or will trigger something else. Was anything mentioned about fees or the items being taken down due to lack of identifiers?

I also received the message. I did find one place where it might show the affected listings. I went into eBay Seller Hub, then Growth, then Listing Improvements. That page lists “Underperforming listings”, “Restock advice”, and “Add product identifiers”. Under “Add product identifiers”, there is a 0. So, what is the deal?
Does anyone have something other than a 0 there?
If I have any other reason to call eBay, I’ll ask them about it. Otherwise, I guess I’ll wait for more clarification or perhaps I will see some listings not renew.

I received the same email and have been trying to find a way to check my listings. No luck. I looked at the growth screen, mine also shows 0 needing product identifiers. The email said “we’re writing again to inform you…”. A link to directions or a listing checker of some sort sure would have been appreciated!

I also have this with 0 needing identifiers. I’ve been keeping my listing recommendations clean each day. Not happy to get this email since my bar codes are mainly retailer specific with fewer digits and have been rejected by EBay before. Also just helps eBay show my buyers lower prices from other sellers on my item. Hopefully they will cancel this again. Not much notice – 9/18.

In trying to complete a different task, I accidentally found out that one of my listings needs a product identifier.
These are steps I took trying to complete another task which lead me to find out that one of my items needs a product identifier.
Clicked on My Ebay in the upper right corner.
This opened the Seller’s Hub
Then I toggled over Listings and went down to Active and then clicked on it.
On the left side under the blue button that says Create Listing, I clicked on the Action box in order to check all of my listings because I was trying to do an edit of all of my listings.
Then I clicked on the Edit button which is next to the blue Create Listing button. A choice came up to Edit Selected or Edit all listings. I clicked on all listings.
A new frame came up that said processing.
Then a chart emerged with all listings and relevant information about them. I had to use the bottom slide bar to see the information on the right side.
The chart had two tabs located at the top – Errors and Warnings and the other said Listing Improvements Recommendations. The Errors and Warnings tab appears to be the default tab and automatically opened.
Right below the Errors and Warnings tab (which automatically became the active tab) one of my items was noted along with a red bubble with an exclamation point next to it. The identifier needed for the listing was also identified.Below each tab are buttons – Edit fields, Action, and Edit Price each with their own features.
I then clicked on the box next to the listing in order to choose it which caused a box to open on the right side with the listing information and the ability to update it. Unfortunately, I did not have the information at hand to make the immediate change but it looks like the listing remains flagged until the needed update is completed.
Not sure if this helps, but it lead me to find out that one of my listings needs an identifier.
