Oddly I’ve had two incoming packages with issues this week. One box that had a pair of T-shirts was smashed beyond all recognition. The post office even marked the box “item received damaged.“
Luckily, since the contents were just T-shirts, they were not damaged. But I asked myself – why would somebody ship T-shirtS n a big empty box instead of a mailer? What are the chances of that box being crushed?Seriously though the number of boxes that have been damaged and memory are very well. Just got lucky there was not a mug in this one!
But then, the very next day expensive item which had been shipped by the seller and Show tracking to deliver on Monday suddenly showed only package delayed but still en route. Strange!
This morning I heard the mail truck coming and check the tracking again there has not been any update. But to my surprise, the package was in the mailbox. And Turns out that the seller had just taped a piece of paper with the eBay label But head and taped it very well so it was torn right Down the middle. Luckily my address was still visible but half of the tracking number was gone. Someone at the po has put a blank sticker over the remaining tracking number.So I put myself into sellar mode – I’m an obsessive over packer, and based on my participation in scavenger life, for years I’ve been using label stickers and also using tape across the address for security.
And as it stands now the box I just received ( worth $400!) does NOT show as delivered – and it never will. If I opened a claim with eBay there would likely be no way for the seller to prove delivery.
Luckily for them, I’ll make sure everyone knows it’s here.
Lesson? Don’t assume the best , when shipping, prepare for the worst!
