From the eBay Boards (Notice the Second Point in particular):
02-06-2018 05:04:40 PM
We made some updates to eBay Guaranteed Delivery to improve the program for sellers:First, using eBay labels is no longer a requirement for the handling time option of eBay Guaranteed Delivery.
Second, through June 30th eBay will make it right for your buyer if they receive their item late, even if you miss your handling time or the carrier scans the package late. This means that if a buyer receives their item past the guaranteed date and raises a case, eBay will either reimburse their shipping cost or provide a free return label, buyer’s choice.
Also, have you tried out the Guaranteed Delivery bulk editing tool? It shows you which of your listings aren’t yet guaranteed, and how to update them. Use the “Updates” filter on the left to see which listings aren’t meeting specific program requirements, then update them in bulk.
We’re working toward opening up the program to more sellers in the coming months, and will email sellers when it’s time to opt in. -

Can you send a link to where you received this? I can’t find this on the Announcements page. I would like to see the “Update” button for what items are in EGD and which are not.

Yeah, where is the “Guaranteed Delivery bulk editing tool”?
I found out where the Guaranteed Delivery Dashboard is:
https://www.ebay.com/sh/prf/egd-dashboard
But it doesnt say much other than how well you’re doing without specifics. -

Thanks for this. The goods news is that we show that all our items are qualifying for EGD.

Cool. Links are always helpful in these conversations.
Here’s the Guaranteed Shipping Editing tool:

I just got a message that I qualify for this, but not sure how I feel about it.
“if a buyer receives their item past the guaranteed date and raises a case, eBay will either reimburse their shipping cost or provide a free return label, buyer’s choice”
So “if”…something arrives late and they reimburse the shipping cost, is it sucked from our Paypal account? Or are we given a defect or something as a result?
Two of the qualifying shipping methods listed are media mail and parcel. Media mail can be notoriously slow sometimes if you’re shipping to the opposite coast, parcel sometimes also can extend past a 3 day delivery window.
Am I overly concerned that this could cause one big mess around the holiday season or with sudden adverse weather, or does anyone else share my fears on this??
Is anyone opting out?

If you are in the Handling Program (which you should be), as long as you get the acceptance scan from the USPS within your stated Handling Time, then EBay would pay for the shipping reimbursement. You would not pay anything.

That’s a great question about the buyer reimbursement. That would be something to ask ebay. It was my understanding that the seller was not going to be dinged but instead ebay would cover the cost because it is their program.
