I’m almost positive the following happened to a bunch of my listings; has anyone else noticed this:
I frequently use eBay’s photos editor to crop and brighten some or all of the photos I upload to my listings. A week or so ago I started noticing that a BUNCH of my listings have reverted the photos to the original uploaded format, undoing all the time and effort I’ve put in to crop and brighten them. I’m almost positive I’m not imagining this.
Also, I’m finding that many of the same listings now have “Will ship to the United States and the following:” checked under “Other Shipping Services > Offer Another Service” on the listing page. I almost always leave/set “Other Shipping Options” on/to “None”. But somehow many, many of them have changed on me.
On a vaguely related note, I discovered on my invoice that several of my listings that I haven’t touched in a long time magically and suddenly had the $4 “stand out with bold title” box checked and I’ve been charged for them on the past 2 invoices. I know for a fact that I did not check that box. Ugh…

You should call eBay about those $4.00 charges. Everyone there knows what nonsense they are. I have accidentally check the box on more than one occasion, and each time I call they say “we don’t normally don’t do this, but we will give you a one time courtesy credit”.

@debitendcredits – I’ve contacted them through Facebook. In these cases, I know that I didn’t check the boxes (even accidentally). They are listings that were up for months before the fees ever started kicking in. And I hadn’t edited or otherwise visited the listings during that time.
I only mentioned that issue at all to pile onto my observation of my listings being randomly altered by whatever glitch is infecting eBay “this hour”. It seems like there’s always some glitch or two crawling around the site at any given moment. ANd you never know what’s or who is going to be affected.

I haven’t noticed any older listings reverting back to the unedited photos, but I haven’t really checked either. However, I have recently been creating similar listings for jewelry. When I take the latest one and sell similar, the new listing reverts the photos to the unedited versions. I’m just deleting them and putting in new ones, but I notice the change.
I’ve noticed a bunch of annoying glitches recently. For instance, if I have a draft, and I go to make a copy of the draft, I get an error message and the new one doesn’t show up. All I have to do is refresh the page, and there it is with no issues.
Fourth quarter seems to be eBay’s favorite time to mess with the software.

@Sharyn – Oh yeah, I experienced the draft copy problem too. I’d go to create copies of a draft and it wouldn’t work. Then later on I discover a whole bunch of similar drafts, because I’d tried several times but kept getting errors.
I don’t know why eBay won’t just give us a “create similar draft” button – like the “sell similar” button. It would make the process a lot less tedious (and less confusing, because it’s not always easy to find the correct duplicate draft when you have a page full of drafts in progress).

I’ve had the can’t-copy-a-draft issue. I’ve had similar problems where I can’t edit drafts and had to copy them before I can edit them. I haven’t noticed any photos reverting to originals but I don’t spend much time looking at previously-listed items.

I have sometimes seen edited photos revert back. I started cropping before I upload because I didn’t trust ebay’s photo editor anymore.

When I downloaded photos from my eBay listings I found them to be resized to 1,600 pixels from the uploaded larger size. So now I resize before uploading, and crop to square, even if most of the image ends up as white.
