Hi all.
I’ve some luck with bags and briefcases and found this really nice (and I assume somewhat vintage) hardshell briefcase at Goodwill yesterday for 8 bucks. It is padded black leather on the outside with a suede leather interior and is in pretty good condition. It has two Prestolock combination locks on either side of the case, along with the instruction card for changing the combination. I’ve never seen this style case before as most have locks on either side of the handle rather than on the edge of the case like this one. The only marking though is an “S.S.” imprinted on the case leather in the middle of the handle. I assume these are just initials of the owner rather than a brand ID. One of the zippers on the inside has a “BS” on it. I’ve tried looking up all these initials to no end. The presto locks are a separate brand used by many different cases.
I must admit I’m sort of shocked that a case of this quality wouldn’t have a brand listed somewhere. Do we have any briefcase experts here?
Here is a quick pic I took.

can you put the photo on imgur.com?
you can just paste that URL in and it will show here. -

Check these two out. The one on the right has locks on the side, but without your photo, can’t really tell if it is a match. One on the left sold for $25 and one on the right for $20 but that was way back in 2009. Used the search terms padded briefcase presto locks [see end of link below]
I may be able to help further if as Ryanne says, you place your photo on Imgur.com and place the link in a post here. Once we see what your case looks like someone may be able to help you with more details.

Good luck

Hi. Thanks for the responses. I’m not sure what’s going on. I have the image in my Google drive and I copied the public link to the pic and it shows up in my post above just fine on my end. I don’t have an imgur account.
This is the direct link to the photo on Google. Does this work?

Nope. I believe Imgur has a free account. All you do is regsiter with an email and create a password. But may be wrong. I have used PhotoBucket for years but just don’t use it much.
Go to http://www.worthpoint.com and put in the search terms I used and at least you can see the items i was looking at or that link I attached should take you directly there.
Also Google image search will help you research, Pintrest but that gives you a ton of images to sort through, TerraPeak which is free if you have a premium or higher store. We have started using that fairly regularly. Gives one full year of what sold on Ebay instead of just the 90 days worth that Ebay provides. TerraPeak also provides some pretty good analytics for the sales trends, averages on dollar amount sold, and other stuff.

nope. your link doesn’t work for me. you don’t need an account on imgur. That’s what makes it so easy.

That’s really weird. I’ve never had issues sharing a Google pic before and it shows in my post and by using the link I made even when I’m logged out of Google. The joys of technology I guess…
Here is the imgur link:
I have searched on worthpoint and in ebay solds and haven’t found anything. I don’t have TerraPeak yet, but I’ll probably be upgrading to the next level store next month.
Anyway, hopefully this link works. Not a great pic, but just a quick snapshot showing the lock, the interior, and the initials under the handle.
Thanks for working with me.

Yep certainly different from the Worthpoint photo. Good luck on the search. Maybe someone here will come up with something.

Thanks. Glad the pic finally worked. 🙂
This is half the fun of reselling…the discovery of what the heck some of these things are! I stumble on briefcases quite a bit so it doesn’t hurt to become more knowledgeable of them. -

That’s it! Mine’s black, and the interior is a little different, but that’s clearly the same style.
Well done and thank you!
I searched for nearly an hour on eBay solds. Guess my eyes were going cross or something.
I really really appreciate it.
Sadly it’s not some super rare vintage multi-hundred dollar case…but I’ll take a $30 profit any day.
Cheers!
