HUGE MILESTONE!!! Congrats. I didn’t see a huge increase in sales when I got 1k, but it does give you the feeling that your store could run itself for a day or two. It’s a good buffer.

Jealous, jealous, jealous! 😀 But very happy for you! That’s wonderful!
I seem to be doing 3 steps forward, 2 steps back, but inching upwards. Congratulations on getting where I want to be!

Ugh. I would hope my sales would increase 4X by going from 200 to 1000 listings.
I just hit 300 listings – very little clothing/shoes.At what point did you switch from Basic to Premium store?

We switched when the math made sense. So I download the detail on our monthly invoice, so that I can separate out the shipping cost (for FedEx) from the listing fees. I also add up the total cost of listing (the store subscription at our current level, plus the extra listing fees for going over 1,000 listings for the month). When we start paying more a month for those two costs than the Anchor store cost, then I will switch to the Anchor Store.
I did the same analysis when we moved from Basic to Premium. When the total subscription fee and listing fee was more than the cost for a Premium subscription, we moved up.

I’m too lazy to do the math on profit at 200 and profit at 1000. It has definitely gotten better, but I don’t have a clue how much.
We have a lot of clothes, because that is what we are finding. We’ve probably averaged about $800 a month profit (not taking any mileage deductions) for the past year from eBay sales. We subscribed to the basic store before we hit 40 items. We new we’d get there soon so we went ahead an did it a bit early. We’ll weigh the anchor store price and benefits soon. Listing fees will come into play, but we may make the upgrade early if there are enough incentives to do so.

i also do NOT want to do the math.
Pushing on 300 items with a basic store.

250 included in basic subscription + 250 fixed price items @ .20 = $50
$24.95 + $50 = $74.95 – which is the cost of a premium store paying month to month.
So at 500 fixed price items you hit the break even point for moving up to a Premium Store.1000 included in premium subscription, 2750 fixed price items @ .10 = $275
74.95 + 275 = $349.95 – which is the cost of an anchor store paying month to month.
So at 3750 fixed price items you hit the break even point for moving up to an Anchor store.I wish they had a store between Premium & Anchor – $74.95 to $349.95 is a HUGE difference.
I think my figures are correct. If I did my math wrong, someone one here will correct me.I’ve got to start saving to subscribe annually to the premium store at approx $720 for the $59.95 monthly cost. That will allow us to hit 3900 items before we cross the anchor store price point.
I had to add one more thing in this edit – I forgot to figure in the higher quarterly coupon for shipping supplies. Anchor stores get $150 a quarter for shipping supplies.

Here is my math.
For $60/month (we pay for the yearly subscription), we get 1000 listings per month.
For the Anchor store, the yearly subscription is $300/month, difference of $240.
$240 @ .10/listing is 2,400 listings ABOVE the 1,000 free.
So when we hit 3,400 listings per month (between new listings and relist fees), we will be break even for the Anchor store, and we can look to move up.

I absolutely agree that there needs to be a store level / tier in between the premium and the anchor store and many others also agree. I think Jay even has it listed in the forum section of suggestions for Ebay to consider. That is just too large of a gap to jump in my opinion. Even just one at a 5,000 tier would be better than what the jump is now.

I’ve done the math specific to my store using the ebay calculator (http://www.subs.ebay.com/feeweb/feeillustrator) and I got a break even point from basic to premium to right around 450. So your numbers seem in line with that. I only have about 250 in my new store so I’ve got a ways to go before I’ll jump to the next level.

Saving for annual subscription savings! Definitely a business goal to pursue. Hope to make that a reality this year with Q4 sales. It will be cool to pay off eBay subscription fees for 2018 in the first week of the year.
