Hello Jay and Ryanne and community,
You may have heard about a huge and what certainly appears to be a highly successful private pick by Golden Finger Picker and his Wife. It was about a week ago here in Florida, took several trips to collect, and the items are amazing, even the bread and butter above the ruck.
What interest me the most besides seeing all this great stuff, was pondering the question asked, “When is it just too much?” I know GFP had you on his show Jay, so maybe this is a great time to have him on yours. You are a fine interviewer as we all know! I’ll get my popcorn ready for that one if it happens.
Thank you for all that you do, and for creating a true sanctuary for resellers, Junkers, pickers, whatever we call ourselves.

I’m always open to interesting stories. Can you provide a link to where he shows off his haul or discusses what happened. I’m still unclear exactly what he did. I assume bought out a house of stuff?

Good morning Jay,
They made four YouTube videos on this, the first put out on May 9, ‘We Found Silver, Platinum, Gold live unboxing of a private pick’.
There have been three more since but I enjoyed that one best since it is the first and adrenaline and exhaustion fueled. I cannot seem to copy the link off my iPad, I’m at my day job right now, but if you search that title or Golden Finger Picker, the videos will pop right up on YouTube.
I imagine they are probably chin deep in listing and photographing the stuff. What they found is way too interesting and profitable to sit on.
A thrift shop owner that they get along with great gave them a tip and they enjoyed an open door pick at a private residence. It is mostly a time capsule style pick, the owners having passed away several years ago, the estate maintained by a family member. The best part is the owner was a LtCol fighter pilot during Korea and Vietnam who saved and took care of his possessions. The family in fact, bought quality things, took care of what they had, and stored stuff away when it became obsolete.
For me, it was a dream pick.
Hope it works out. Maybe catch him while stuff is selling right smack in the middle of the process. Could be happening now.
Tom

Hi Jay,
They just posted a new update, sales have begun and it is extremely exciting. It is so interesting as they share this experience and how they are figuring out this good thing. They are two days in, several items sold, barely a scratch, and I’m not saying how much they have made so far and how little they paid. You have to watch it yourself, it’s worth it.
If you want to jump to the chase, this shorter 30 minute video is the one to view. If they are reading their YouTube comments right now, I did warn them you may come knocking…A pick like this will help us all keep our lines in the water for our big one!

Okay, thanks for the tip. I’m sure he’ll be telling his own story on his Youtube channel.

Did he ever say how he found the pick? I watched a few of the videos but I don’t recall them saying how they came across the opportunity.

A local thrift shop owner that they do business with and have a good relationship with tipped them off.
