I have a Lord of the Rings complete singlebound book, but there’s no barcode on the outside and it’s sealed, so I can’t open it to find the ISBN. Quite a lot of searching on Google, including reverse image search, and I still can’t narrow down the edition. I did find the general series on Amazon, but didn’t see my cover among the list of editions:
Anyway, I listed it on eBay and immediately got an offer from a Tolkien memorabilia seller. Makes me think it’s worth more than I have it up for, and makes me really want to find the ISBN. Would anyone like to take a crack at it? Here’s my listing:

I didn’t come across anything. Frankly, I’d pull it until you know exactly what you have there. It could have been a promo type thing to celebrate the third movie, or what have you.

You were right! I found it, and it’s a super rare movie tie-in version. No other one available online.

Book person here. IT is out of print, but I wouldn’t say it is a rare copy. I see them quite a bit although I do see the paperback version more than the hardback version. Here is the link to the listing on Amazon:
Here is the ISBN for you: 978-0618345847
Your price seems fine to me, but if you can get more for it, give it a try. Also I’d change the title from “movie promo” to “movie tie in”.

That’s the version I thought it was, but the cover is different. I couldn’t find mention of the cover anywhere but that blog post. Anyway, thanks for the advice everyone. I raised the price and changed the title. The dealer was very frustrating – he kept sending more offers as I tried to edit the listing. And you can’t edit when there’s an active offer.

I took a better look at the back of the book and it looks like it is a book club edition. They used to have 5-6 number codes on the jacket of a book club versus a UPC code like the trade version would have. I can’t find any photos of the book club version to be compare the cover to. Also, some book club books are shipped out shrinkwrapped as your book is.
I did find another listing for the same book on ebay:
