So, sometimes I just buy things on ebay just for fun. Here’s what I buy:
* huge lots of Bed Bath & Beyond products (new products)
* Athleta clothing (especially the skorts)
* sketchers & Bob’s memory foam slip on shoes
* Planetbox stainless steel lunch boxes (lately these are my obsession)
* new perfume in tester bottles
* food gadgets – (like rice molds that look like kitty cats for our bento lunch boxes)
* my dyson handheld vacuum, I’d like to get another one for the office
* Vintage pewter cheese cutters from Norway with Vikings etched on them
* beauty monthly subscription boxes – like birchbox, ipsy, etc.
* bath bombs and homemade soapsThat’s my list, what do you buy on ebay?

I just bought a vintage 60s wooden monkeypod toothpick holder appetizer server – tiki style. Did I need this? No. but $6. Surprisingly, I have not found one of these in the wild amongst the monkeypod cast offs. I also have bought vintage Hawaiian style wood wrap Siestaware glass sets on Ebay. Currently, I’m looking at David Weidman midcentury art.

I bought a pair of Brooks Ghost 8 Running shoes (worn 3 times). I had a pair given to me before and wore them out walking and hiking.
These retail for up to $150.00, but can usually be found on Ebay for about $100 including shipping.
I bought mine at auction for $22 plus $13 shipping. You got to love auctions.

Some indulgences I have purchased in past:
-$80 North Face pants that zip off into shorts
-Timberland Smartwool slippers – not sure these are made anymore, but my first pair lasted ~10 years
-Seki nail clippers
-Canon 100 – 400 mm lens (this is a safari lens I took to Ecuador – bought low and sold back high on return – covered the eBay fees and shipping so I was able to ‘rent’ the lens for free)
-Copper tri ply pots/pans -

I buy my steel toe work shoes on there. The pair I’m wearing now are Timberland Pro and they look like a pair of Sperry Top Sider Boat Shoes. $50 brand new – originally $150.
I also buy our vacations on there. I buy a timeshare week at the beach when we go to the beach.

In the mid-2000’s, I was looking last minute for three vacation rentals (for my family, my sister’s family, and my parents). I found a company through eBay that had three units available for our week, but I ended up arranging and paying for them off line. I wonder if eBay allowed that at that time.
Last year, I bought several bowls that go with our place settings. Normally, the bowls go for $40 at Replacements. I kept waiting for someone with a better price and then bought all they had.

I feel everyone’s responses (including mine) aren’t guilty pleasures but the great deals we get on stuff we need!

One of the reasons I got started selling on Ebay as a hobby is to sell cool things of value I found that we don’t need and essentially swapping them for things we do plus a few vintage items I like and never find. Then it just blossomed into a little side business.
