I received the message below from eBay yesterday. Did anyone else get this invite and/or sign up for it? Has anyone used the Limitless app and if so, what were your experiences? It seems to me like eBay is trying to outsource some of its customer service related tasks to its sellers.
We’re looking for eBay community members and experienced, active sellers like you, who’d like to help others optimize their selling performance on eBay –and put extra cash in your pocket. We’ve teamed up with Limitless Technology to enable selected sellers to become eBay Seller Experts and provide real-time tips, feedback, and support to other eBay sellers using the Limitless app. We’re inviting you to participate because you’ve been a top-performing eBay seller and an amazing eBay advocate.
When you become an eBay Seller Expert, you’ll earn up to $1.20 every time you successfully support an eBay seller using the Limitless app. You’ll also receive a one-time $10 bonus just for becoming an eBay Seller Expert.
Start sharing your expertise with other eBay sellers and earn extra money. Please click on the button below to register your interest.

Someone recently posted that they were given an offer to provide eBay feedback (or something like that). I’ve not heard of Limitless or a similar eBay offer.

If you can successfully support an eBay seller in 4.8 minutes or less, then you’re earning minimum wage (assuming the minimum wage is 15 dollars an hour). That’s how much they value being a “top-performing eBay seller and an amazing eBay advocate.”
On the other hand, if you’ve got a suitable AI program. this might be a big earner for you 🙂

Smart for eBay to incentivize eBay sellers to help each other. But that’s not much money.

In May 2020, eBay went live with Limitless SmartCrowd™, using the platform to both answer queries from Sellers, and to offer coaching to improve their performance in the Marketplace. eBay invited their top ranked Sellers to be a part of their Seller Expert team, and to share their unique experiences of selling with those less knowledgeable.
Now Sellers with questions on their website based on 100 subjects such as creating listings, fees, shipping, returns and payments will all be routed towards a more experienced Seller, who can offer first-hand advice and empathy that traditional support might struggle to match. This is also deflecting these queries from their traditional support, meaning they can contribute to other more value-adding activities.
So this is eBay cutting costs and removing the burden of empathy from their staff, who can then contribute more effectively to eBay’s bottom line.

Roger Beadle, co-founder of Limitless, says they’re looking for “gig experts” to provide “gigCX” to eBay. They’ve just received $10 million in Series B funding, a boost to their mission to provide CX transformation.

I was invited to participate in this and attended a virtual orientation. It didn’t pencil out for me. The compensation was too low for the time involved. That time would be better spent listing in my opinion.

Yeah, the best eBay sellers are unlikely to participate in this program anyway, since they are making better money doing things like … selling on eBay.

If you look at the other applications of Limitless technology, eBay’s the outlier in actually paying participants. One of the applications is pretty bizarre (it involves a British newspaper).

Hmmm, I’d probably at least try it out if it was offered to me. I could see me answering some questions in my downtime just for fun. Basically treat it like a game. Why play a time suck game on your phone when you could game-ify something else and get paid? That’s my outlook and basically how I approach my ebay business anyways.

“Earn up to $1.20” So that means the pay is likely less for most answers.
