I listed a magazine today that looks real to me but a buyer asked me about the size of the mag. I answered his question and asked him why he was asking? Did he think I might have a fake? His answer was “The original magazine measures 8.5”x11” just to let you know.” (Mine copy is smaller)
So I asked him how he knew that and he said: “if you look on worthpoint there’s people that have sold real and fake ones. And the measurements are different.”
Any wise advise? Does anyone know how I can verify this info without worthpoint? I am not subscribed to worthpoint and don’t intend to be because of cost. Do we have anyone in our group that is subscribed to Worthpoint? and would I be crossing the line to ask for a look up?
Here is the listing in case anyone is able to help: https://www.ebay.com/itm/162992130946
Thank you so very much in advance on this. I don’t want to misrepresent my item in anyway and appreciate any and all input.

I took a look for you… Even without a subscription you should be able to see the text-description just not the price. This verbiage is copy & paste from the highest sold for $150 on March 2011.
There was a higher price at $165 BUT it was for 3 different issues of which yours was one of the 3. So who knows how much only the #1 issue would be. But seems the larger size is the original.VERY VERY RARE LOWRIDER MAGAZINE ISSUE # 1 IN NEAR MINT CONDITION , THIS IS MY LAST # 1 I AM SELLING ,THIS IS OUT OF MY PERSONNAL COLLECTION ,THIS IS A GREAT COLLECTABLE AND THE ONLY 1 ON EBAY ,NO STAINS RIPS OR TEARS ,STAPLES ARE VERY TIGHT NO LOOSE PAGES ,SO GOOD LUCK , I ALSO HAVE A # 11 LOWRIDER MAGAZINE IN MY STORE , THANKS FOR LOOKING ,PLEASE SEE MY OTHER AUCTIONS FOR MORE RARE VINTAGE MAGAZINES Check out my other items !Be sure to add me to your favorites list ! SIZE IS 8-1/2 X 11 SO PLEASE DONT ASK ME IF IT IS A REPRINT IT IS AN ORIGINAL ISSUE FROM 1977 NOT THE REPRINT FROM 2000 THE SIZE OF THE MAGAZINE IS THE WAY YOU TELL THE DIFFERENCE, THE REPRINT MEASURES 7-3/4 X 10-1/2 ,,,, I HAVE SOLD ORIGINAL ISSUES ON EBAY FOR 200.00 WITH FREE SHIPPING IN THE PAST SO DONT MISS THIS CHANCE TO OWN THIS CLASSIC ,AINT NO TELLIN WHEN ANOTHER ORIGINAL # 1 WILL COME UP FOR SALE ON EBAY.
Hope this helps,
Mike at MDC Galleries and Fine Art in Atlanta

Mike, thank you so much, that is amazingly helpful. I really appreciate your help on this. It’s too bad that the seller there does not say how he knows that the size makes a difference but I will have to take his word for it and make sure my listing has all the info so people can make their own decision. Thank you again for taking the time to help me with this.

I would put the size in the title and and also in the condition report. If I weren’t specifically looking for it, I would have never seen it.
Another great find..

Here’s one that sold for $113. The seller indicates that there is a different sized reprint.

Sigilini,
I would offer that you put one or both of the words – Vintage/Collectible in the title and description. I would also offer that you are not only selling an item, but a concept, a memory. Your target market is men who maybe or were car collectors or who maybe or are passionate about vintage cars and/or the LowRider magazine and what it represented. With that in mind, I would offer that you make key things stand out. Tighten up the cover picture so that it is showing the white frame and everything inside. For the cool picture of the lowrider car, see if you can tighten up the picture to show only the white and the picture inside.

Auction Kenny, thank you. I really appreciate you looking it up. I edited my listing so that the information is clear as to size.
AdventureE, I took your suggestions and edited the listing. Thank you for that input.
I suspect that this item will be a long tail due to the fact that it is not the size that is considered original. But I will post and update as soon as it sells. Let’s see what happens next… stay tuned.

And it sold on auction. Did it have to go through several auction cycles?

Hi Jay, yes, sold on auction after several cycles. I had it up for 99.00, lowered the price and it finally sold.
I used auction at first to see if I would get a higher price and then I just kept relisting to use up my free auction listings as I get only 10000 buy it now listings.
