I recalled that someone found a glitch with scheduled listings and posted it to a Facebook group. I found the post from the end of September, but it doesn’t match what you are experiencing. I’ve cut and pasted the post below. I’m sure you are on the phone with eBay now.
Perhaps they are messing around with the code for scheduled listings, and that is why there have been a few glitches reported lately. This seems to be the way eBay works; “Try to fix something by breaking it a few times first.”
I have a lot of listings in “scheduled”. I’ve always been able to bulk edit and pick “start time” as one of the options which if I choose START NOW they change from scheduled to active. All of a sudden that option is no longer offered. I’ve used this many times and it was there like a week ago. I called ebay concierge and he was just as surprised as I was. He put in a report that it coild be a glitch. I can edit the start time if I do them individually but I have almost 1800 listings in scheduled right now. If I use the “reschedule” feature it will cost an extra $.10 per listing or $180. Anyone have this happen or any ideas of another work around?

Thanks Sharyn. Yeah I have a couple work arounds that I might use, such as Sell Similar and the go back and delete the Scheduled listing. I’ve had that help the glitch before, had a similar issue with some listings back in July as well, now that i’m thinking about it 😆

I think they are messing around with the site. I was just listing some postcards and most of the categories in the postcard section are gone. I can now only choose “Topographical Postcards” or “Non-Topographical Postcards.” Hopefully this is not a permanent category adjustment as no one is going to be able to find any postcards under just those two sections.

The change in the postcard categories is a planned change by eBay. I think it might of been mentioned on one of the scavenger life forums, but here is a link to an eBay page (rather long) that shows it.
https://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformation/news/categorychanges/preview2021.html
If you do a page search for postcards (control-f), it will bring up 133 changes. Most of it is indicating which listings will move to Topographical or Non-Topographical. This is suppose to happen automatically – but as we all know when dealing with eBay things seldom work out as planned.

And the distinction between those two subcategories is by no means clear. EBay seems to have come up with its own definition of the word “topographical”. Postcards in Landscapes/Mountains and Roads and Highways subcategories will go to non-topographical even though they are topographical by any definition. And any postcard in a place-name subcategory will go to topographical which doesn’t make sense. Even among postcard collectors there is not a very definitive line to categorize a topographical postcard. Non-collectors looking for a card will presumably use the dictionary definition of the word topographical, which is simply relating to physical features of an area. So the distinction between eBay’s two subcategories will be useless with everyone defining it differently. They may as well have gone to a single category. It’s insanity.

OK, since this post has changed course a bit, perhaps I can add my own little rant on eBay categories for a minute. On Oct 4, I received an email from eBay saying that I had books listed with media mail in categories not allowing media mail. Thing is, all the categories were book categories! I ignored the email, and later on I received an “oops, ignore the email we sent out” email.
Here’s the content of that original email:
Your account has active listings that offer USPS Media Mail as a shipping service option in categories that aren’t eligible for Media Mail under USPS rules. In addition, eBay Labels does not support shipping label printing for Media Mail in these categories.
In order to prevent buyers from selecting Media Mail for listings that aren’t eligible for the service, we recommend you update your active listings to remove Media Mail as a shipping service option for items in those categories. For new listings in those categories, Media Mail won’t be an available shipping service.
Below is a summary of the top categories in which you have the most active listings. Please note that you may have active listings in additional categories:
Category ID: 29223
Number of listings: 58
Category Name: BOOKS & MAGAZINES:ANTIQUARIAN & COLLECTIBLE
Category ID: 261186
Number of listings: 48
Category Name: BOOKS & MAGAZINES:BOOKS
Category ID: 1105
Number of listings: 9
Category Name: BOOKS & MAGAZINES:TEXTBOOKS, EDUCATION & REFERENCE:TEXTBOOKS
Category ID: 171223
Number of listings: 6
Category Name: BOOKS & MAGAZINES:TEXTBOOKS, EDUCATION & REFERENCE:STUDY GUIDES & TEST PREP
Category ID: 139973
Number of listings: 5
Category Name: VIDEO GAMES & CONSOLES:VIDEO GAMES
If you believe a particular category should be eligible for Media Mail support via eBay Labels, please provide details in this short survey.
