Changes to eBay Top rated Plus badge evaluation
After the introduction of separate domestic and international return policies, Top Rated Plus badge and discount evaluation will now be based on seller return policies that align with the country where items are listed and the item location.
If the item location is in the same country as the listing site, eBay will use the domestic return policy for the Top Rated Plus badge and discount evaluation. You will need to offer a minimum of 30-day free domestic returns.
If the item location is not in the same country as the listing site, eBay will use the international return policy for the Top Rated Plus badge and discount evaluation. You need to offer a minimum of 30-day free international returns. -

What’s next? 1,000 day return window?
I’ll admit – I always thought it was 30 day free returns for TRS.
Anyway, I switched from 1-day handling to 2-day handling during lockdown and decided to keep it as I’ve started listing again. The stress of packing every day was not worth it, and the added time I now have during the week to source/list is more important in my book.

NO. Please read this announcement carefully.
This does NOT change the requirements for Top Rated Seller status. There is a difference between being a Top Rated Seller and having a Top Rated PLUS listing This relates to Top Rated PLUS LISTINGS. To get the TRS Plus benefits (and the TRS Plus badge on your listing), you have long needed to have same or one day handling and 30 day free domestic returns. That does NOT change. It is already a requirement. This change won’t effect most of us who get our inventory from thrifts, yard sales etc. IF (as is the case for most of us) you are registered on the US site AND your item actually ships from the US, then all you need to do is continue doing what you’ve been doing for TRS Plus listings. On the other hand, if you are registered in the US but your item will actually ship from, say, China (for example, you are using a drop shipper), then to get TRS Plus you must provide FREE 30 DAY INTERNATIONAL RETURNS.
My listings currently all qualify for TRS Plus I am registered on the US site, I ship from the US, I’m a Top Rated Seller, I offer one day handling, and I offer 30 day free DOMESTIC return shipping on all my listings. I do not need to change anything. Same old same old.

TRS Plus gets you the TRS badge on your TRS Plus qualifying listings. Some sellers think this helps with sales, others think it makes no difference. I figure it doesn’t hurt, it might help. You also get 10% off the FVF on any sale of a TRS Plus listing. So, if the FVF is 10%, that’s a regular fee of $1.00 on a $10.00 item, but with TRS Plus, that’s a fee of 90 cents.
Offhand, I can’t remember whether it is TRS or TRS Plus that gets you the nice discount on ebay shipping label fees. I think that’s TRS, but I’m not sure.
