For anyone interested, ebay Open will be at the Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, July 24 – 26th (Tuesday through Thursday) Registration is now open. The Agenda is a little skimpy on details at this point, presumably more info to come. Register before May 1st for lowest rate.

Wow $275 plus $89 a night per room for early reservations.. that seems just a little steep. Does anyone whose gone consider it money well spent?
Thanks

the room rate doesn’t include the hotel tax, which bumps it up a good bit more. The 275 is the early registration rate, it goes up by about $125 after May 1st I think…
I’ve never been, so can’t say whether it is well spent or not. We’re giving it some thought…we’d also have to tack on the cost of a flight from the east coast

For those who have gone:
1. Why did you go? Were you able to achieve your goal for going?
2. What were the networking opportunities like and have they been of benefit?
3. What were the major takeaways that one could not get from simply listening to the recording of the sessions?
4. How did going benefit your sales, store, inventory, profits etc?
5. Would you recommend that other sellers go to the upcoming eBay Open?-

I have not been but Jason T Smith has done quite a few youtube videos about and at EBay Open. Here is one that he did titled “Ask Me Anything About EBay Open” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64HavT7vSbk&t=2815s
You can also type into the Youtube search bar “Jason T Smith Ebay Open” and you’ll find a lot of his videos on the topic.

I think it is probably one of those “you get into it what you put into it” types of things.

I remember reading last year about someone who went. Was it Tsatt?

Yes, we went last year, and are discussing if we will go this year. The information in the sessions was interesting, but the best part was getting to talk with specific eBay reps to answer our questions on Guaranteed Delivery, they worked with us to make sure we knew how it would work, and we signed up and were part of the first wave of EGD sellers. We also got a lot of good questions answered with the folks from SixBit (and partied with them at the Barenaked Ladies concert…John Slocum is a HUGE BNL fan).
The other part we enjoyed, and would be of biggest benefit to us this year, would be networking with other sellers to learn their strategies on sourcing, listing, etc.
The price is very reasonable for the value that you get. Mandalay Bay is a steal at that price, and you get a TON of free food for 3 days (we didn’t eat out except for our traditional dinner at Casa de Amore, and our favorite singer George Bugatti was there that night!). Plus, we pack on an extra day or so for a little vacation, and work in some sourcing while in Vegas.

Thinking about going this year also. Would be great to have a Scavenger group represented. Jay Ryanne – how about getting a rental out that way for this event. Vegas Baby! Great income potential.
🙂
