My daughter-in-law recently set up an eBay account. She quickly received quite a few offers at full price but they all asked to speak to her on the phone. After accepting a couple of them that never followed through with payment (but not talking on the phone), she rejected all of them. Then she received an email from eBay saying her account was “permanently suspended because we noticed activity that we believe is a risk to our community”. Below is the email. Does anyone have advise on what happened and how she can fight the suspension? Thanks in advance, Peter
Your eBay account has been permanently suspended
Hello xxx,
Your eBay account has been permanently suspended because we noticed activity that we believe is a risk to our community.
This means the following:
– You can’t buy or sell on eBay any longer. Any other accounts that you own or that are associated with this account have also been suspended.
– Outstanding selling fees are due immediately, and any amounts that you haven’t previously disputed will be charged to the payment method we have on file. The safety of our community is a top priority for us, so our decision to permanently suspend your account is final and can’t be appealed.
If you have any concerns or questions regarding this matter, select Help & Contact at the top of most eBay pages.

Hey Peter. It’ll be difficult for anyone here to have much more info. Has she called eBay to discuss the matter? In our early days, we found that talking to a person made eBay realize we didnt have bad intentions.
Just curious: was she selling items she bought wholesale? Its a whole lot of diamonds and rhinestone.

She bought some of them wholesale, others are arbitrage. Not real diamonds. She was going after the sparkly bling market. I think she’s had a hard time getting to a real person on eBay to resolve this.

Something sounds amiss. Why would people need to call her? That is odd. Sounds like she got scammed or something. Nobody should need to talk to you on the phone to buy your stuff.

How can someone make an offer at full price?
Maybe it’s something to do with the recent Congressional UAP report. “Black Triangle Purse with Beautiful Silver Rhinestones in Mesh”, and Black Triangle (ufo). Load of Area 51 nuts and Men In Black wanting to find out more about alien bling.

Scammers. I’ve had similar things happen on Craigslist. They want to come over to pick it up and give you a bogus money order. Or send it to them outside of eBay and they will deposit cash into your account. Or something like that.

If you have a problem getting eBay on the phone, try the Facebook group “eBay for Business” and use Messenger to contact them. They may take a day to get back to you, but they often are better at resolving issues than the phone support. Make sure she gives them her username, and they will come back with other identifying questions to make sure they have the right person, so keep an eye out for a response.
Spammers often look for new accounts. She should not respond to any offer that looks suspicious or too good to be true. Do not respond to any request to contact them outside of eBay.
Looking at her titles:
“No Limit Black Credit Card” could be an issue. She might want to say No Limit Brand Credit Card Holder instead.
She should use “Faux Diamonds” or just rhinestones or crystals (depending on what they are).
She should avoid special characters such as dashes and slashes. From what I’ve heard, they can mess up searches.
