I’m looking at purchasing the Dymo 4XL that so many on the forum use. New it’s going for around $179. I’m wondering if anyone has purchased it used. They are going for about $80 used on ebay. I’m hesitant to buy it used but that is quite a savings. If you have purchased it used let me know how your experience was.

Yes! I bought mine used off eBay last year. It’s been working great for me. It took a little time to load the first time, but I’m a pro now!

Hey thanks everyone! That’s what I needed. Just a little push 🙂 Going to buy used. And that’s a good tip Jay I’ll make sure it works right away.
Great buy on the peanut dispenser. What a thing to put free shipping on! I wonder how much that will cost.

Sellers who offer Free Shipping are insane, but I’ll take it. This item will likely cost $25+ to ship.

joeMEZZ/Jay/Ryanne, you print your box label on the 4XL, and a packing slip on a regular laser printer? Or no packing slip at all?
Do I need a 4XL? Still using my laser printer and 2up labels at this point.

If you have a dedicated laser printer near your workstation that you can leave 2up labels in at all times, then that works great. I was having to load the labels every time I printed labels, which was annoying. Also, the printer was in our school room and my shipping area was in the garage. I had to walk across the house for every label.
Label Printer pro’s:
*Small – sets right beside my listing area.
*Lightning fast. The label is ready in the time it takes me to hit print and reach over to the printer.
*No ink. Ever.
*uses much less energy than a big laser printer.Personally I used a Dymo 450 turbo, and now use a Zebra 4×6 printer. I’m contemplating what to do with the dymo. I may bring it in to work.
Unless you have a 100% optimal laser printer situation, the Return on investment in time and money for the Dymo will be quite quick.

i have the dymo 450 and i love it. i print my packing slips on my laser printer and also int’l and FedEx Smartpost on the laser. USPS gets printed on the Dymo, i know that’s a little wonky, but it works great for me.

Thanks Ryanne! Checking every day for Black Friday for a deep discount or I’m going to buy used. Either way going to make the jump this week.

I know everyone seems to like the Dymo, but have you looked at ROLLO Label Printers? They have really good reviews…also, I might suggest that you wait for black friday…the Dymo has gone on sale during those times (on Amazon).

Never heard of that brand. Do you use the Rollo? I think many of us have been using Dynmo because it’s affordable and people know it works for eBay labels.

I purchased one yesterday on ebay using the 15% off coupon ebay had for the day. Can’t wait to get it!
I have heard of the Rollo only because someone I used to watch on Youtube was given one from the company to review.

How many labels come per roll and how much are they? I usually get a great deal on the two-per-sheet labels for my laser printer and ink is extremely cheap and lasts forever.

We used the same laser printer method for a long time. It works great. Not exactly sure of the math, but the Dymo labels might be just a little bit more expensive.
But the real difference is just convenience. Dymo labels are just easier to print and stick on the box.

Picked up a Dymo 450 Turbo locally today. Just need to get some labels for it. Most excited to use it for Amazon labels (instead of 30-up sheets), but looking forward to using it for USPS labels too.
What size/number are you all using for your USPS labels?

They work great and are very affordable.

I have had a Rollo printer for about 6 months now (~300 labels) and it works great. If I recall a selling point is that Rollo does not require proprietary label blanks. I would watch out for any label maker that has to have a certain type of label to work.

i buy the labels on ebay at about 8 rolls at a time to get them cheaper. they are called the 99019 size.
