I have occasionally dreamed about scavenging, but I just recently had two very vivid dreams. Here is what they were about:
1. I was at a thrift store and spent abut 45 minutes looking through some boxes under a table and put all the good stuff I could find into two bags. I turned around after looking some more and someone had taken one of the bags! I have never had this happen in real life. I try to guard my stuff well. This can really be a problem at rummage sales because you have so many things.
2. This was the good dream. I was at this old house with some friends in the garage. The garage was falling apart like the ones you see on American Pickers. The garage was like a time capsule of items from the 1960’s. I was looking at all this cool stuff. There were magazines from the 1960’s, about 5 of those Red flyer sleds. Then someone said the owners didn’t care if we took anything. Game on! This really would be a dream come true if it were real.

Interesting question! When I was in high school, I would have dreams in Spanish if that was what I was studying, especially for a test. When I was in college where I was studying engineering, I would have dreams in “math”. Either way, I did not understand my dreams at all.
Now that I’m a “middle-aged” adult, I don’t really remember my dreams so much. However, I usually day dream as I’m trying to get to sleep.
I’m often on my computer working on eBay stuff close to bedtime. I know this is not good for sleep patterns, but I often have personal things to do during the day and don’t get as much done as I would like.
As I’m trying to get to sleep, I might be thinking about an auction experience, stuff I’m working on, or sometimes I make up stuff like finding a stash at a garage sale or buying a house with all the stuff in it, etc. I’m sure that Scavenger Life discussion influences those stories in my head!

I had a dream a couple of weeks ago that I happened upon a rummage sale and had found some great stuff that I was throwing into a box, digging digging digging, and then at some point I went to go pay and my two boxes had disappeared and I was frantically trying to find them. An anxiety dream, for sure.
On the other hand, I had a dream a couple of months ago that I went into the basement of an estate sale and there was the mother of all collections of Vintage Christmas, stuff I had only seen in magazines and books. There were cupboards of it, going back deep and I was grabbing as fast as I could and trying to figure out how to carry even more. There was probably fifty grand of vintage Christmas in that basement. I woke up smiling.
