I was checking ebay on my phone and I noticed I had an offer that was 2 days old. I never got a notification, so I checked ebay from my computer. The offer showed “expired”. Hhmm…what happened? I tried to counter the offer and nothing. Kept trying different things. When I looked at the offers I had received, I had received about 7-8 offers on the item from different emails. I would gladly have entertained one of those offers. Thing is, I have no idea how I could have gotten offers that were declined when I did not have offers turned on for that item. I finally did turn on offers for it in the hopes I get an offer again for it. Or, maybe I did something wrong. I have no idea. Has this happened to anyone?

Do you have “automatically decline offers” for prices below a certain amount? Otherwise Im not sure.
I have no idea how I could have gotten offers that were declined when I did not have offers turned on for that item.
This is baffling.
What page are you looking at that shows all these offers?

@daysi, have you been using the “send offer to watchers” tool? If so, it sounds to me like you may be seeing the record of all the watchers to whom you have sent offers. These get filed under a section called “declined/expired offers” on each listings offers page.

I bet that’s it! You can not have “make offer” on an item, but still send people offers. Daysi is probably seeing offers she sent to people that were declined or expired.

Maybe I am not understanding what you are saying .. But you can have Make an Offer turned on and also still send offers out on items.
In our case, I have “Make and Offer” turned on for almost every item in our store [about 1,200 items] except for about 2 dozen special or lower priced items. And, I send offers out to watchers twice a day, morning and evening. All of those are ones that we have “Make an Offer” turned on in the regular listing, and we also usually have a % off Sale running and our daily offers to watchers go through on top of all of that.
We get a notice from Ebay all day long informing us that they have served up a list of listings we can make Offers to Watchers on. All of those already have “Make us an Offer” turned on, and are on Sale.
We usually add another 5% on top of the current sale price to provide an extra incentive to buy.

The_SEAM_Store and Jay, Bingo! That was it. I get so involved (especially lately) in listing, that when I see anything other than a new listing, it throws me. It was so weird. The way the what I thought were “offers” was set up, it truly looked like offers I received. Thanks everyone!
