Anyone out there has the Worthpoint subscription that researches pottery markings.
https://www.worthpoint.com/marks/ceramics/mark-8912_anchor
I found these really cool Sake glasses and want to figure out who made them.
Worthpoint wants another $400.00 to tell me who belongs to the company 🙁
In case the link above does not work – here is the mark I am trying to source.

But don’t espresso cups usually have handles?

Them’s egg cups. They’re used for soft-boiled eggs.
Collected a load of different ones for a display last Easter, together with decorative eggs to put in them. Eggs sold, cups didn’t- no-one uses them any more.

Egg Cup it is! But in this house they shall be treated as Sake cups.
I love them. This will definitely be a case where I set a ridiculously high price so I can keep them for myself 🙂

i’m a sucker for these little cups too. egg cups, sake, espresso. whatever they may be for depending on the culture, i too love them.
just listed these, they seem too wide to be egg cups, so i called them sake cups too–

To both debitendcredits and Ryanne, your ceramic items look like Asian bowls.
https://www.japancentre.com/en/pages/58-japanese-tableware
Chinese tea cups are tiny, usually less than 2″, holding about 2 sips of tea. It’s gongfu cha, or the art of drinking tea, where you savor each mouthful.
Rice bowls and soup bowls fit into the palm of your hand, and are usually wide mouthed. Chinese tea cups are also usually wider than Japanese tea cups, which are more often straight sided.
Egg cups are usually footed, with a tapered bowl.
https://imgur.com/8jtXdIHThis is to keep the egg in an upright position. You place the egg, pointy side down, into the egg cup, then use a knife in a quick motion to slice the top off. If you have your egg hard boiled, you have little servings of salt and pepper, season your egg, and then eat it with a spoon, adding seasoning as you work your way down. A lot of folks prefer their eggs soft boiled and served with “soldiers”, slices of toast cut into thin fingers that can be dipped into the egg. Soldier eaters don’t always season the eggs first. But it’s all according to taste, of course.
Growing up we had egg cups and egg warmers, tiny little “beanies” that were popped onto the eggs in their cups to keep the eggs warm until everyone could get to the table.

LOL! Just found a funny article about egg cups and the first photo shows a beheaded egg and soldiers.

To the author, IRL we eat the whole egg, every bit of it. In the movies they don’t because all the actors are on a diet! 😉

Amatino – Fun article!
In the late 1990s, I had a business trip to Norway. The hotel had a continental type breakfast where there were about three bowls of eggs with different cooking times.
I’ve always liked my eggs well done. I don’t know that I’ve ever eaten a soft boiled egg. This was an issue in Europe because they only seem to cook runny eggs.
