Enjoying some fun Sunday morning listings – wrestling with the revised eBay app – discovered a couple of new impediments which I shan’t to go into here – then a pops a new button.
I tried to copy it which was a mistake because now I apparently turn the feature on and I can’t find it on the site or on the app or anywhere.
But the feature was to automatically reduce the price of my listing by 5% every week that it doesn’t sell.
Since it is a good to cancel, that could make it eventually sell for nothing instead of waiting for the right buyer.
So, first of all? Has anyone else seen this? And secondly how to turn it off.
Bravely embarking on another listing now so we’ll see if it turns up again! -

We’ve received the eBay messages that encourage us to lower prices on certain items that are supposedly in buyer’s carts.
–Is there now a button that does this automatically?
–Is it just n the eBay app?You could always cancel the listing and relist. I assume this would cancel the sale. I’d rather see a 5% sale for 48 hours that automatically ends. Lowering 5% per week till sold is insane. That’s fr sellers that arent trying to make money.

Have not seen it pop up again – nothing is visible on the main site – and I don’t most think it was my imagination. Should take a screenshot instead of trying to copy.
It might be something they are trying to promote on the app and screwed up. Who knows.
I could call them but I think I will just make sure to check this one next week and if it goes down, in price I will just cancel it.
Reminds me of the other weird thing I got a couple of months ago with a guaranteed auction price. Of course I forgot to check to see if they credited me!!! -

There’s been a lot of discussion about this and other new features on the Ebay app on another sellers group I am on. The new update for the app sounds untested and terrible. Some complaints that I have seen are: title screen autofilling and you can’t change it, unable to add photos to drafts, can only do 30 day listings or GTC, defaulting to auctions, adding make an offer to lisings and autofilling the dollar amount, and the one you mentioned above. There have been many phone calls to Ebay and Ebay’s response is “that’s the way the app is now, if you don’t like it switch to the desktop version.”

Agreed that it appears that some of the “features” on the new app were not well thought out especially for high volume sellers. I always start listings on my phone and end them on the computer. The photo section is slightly improved and I save a few clicks there, but those clicks are wiped out with the defaults it imposes (like auctions). The two real pains are it doesn’t have the condition description any more so I have to either write it in the general description and copy paste it, or just do it later, and also I have to always change the 30 day default to good to canceled on the computer. They still don’t allow business policies on the app which sucks. Overall it is probably slowing me down about 1 minute per listing, which doesn’t sound like a lot but it sure adds up over hundreds of auctions.

The program that buytikiselltiki is seeing is called eBay Easy Pricing. If you google “ebay easy pricing” you’ll find a few pages talking about it. Here’s one: https://esellercafe.com/sellers-unsure-ebays-easy-pricing/
