Hi SL!
Hope everyone has had a great fruitful weekend of sales.. Mine was pretty quiet, I so miss the ebay SOLD notification sound the phone makes.
As you guys are packing up your orders, I want to ask if anyone has any other productivity hacks that you use when using your ebay app on your mobile phone?
The tip that was shared on a podcast sometime ago, helped me save some time daily! It was the one where you do the drafts on the computer, and then later use the phone to add the photo into the draft directly. I was still using the dropbox from phone to computer method that I was using 10 years ago!!
This saved me abit of time in my daily listings! THANKS SL!
I was wondering if there are anymore productivity hacks that you guys and anyone here, use daily with your phone?
I know I use the phone when I’m packing my orders and writing the addresses and details. But from what I know, you guys have a different operational process, where you print out the ebay invoice, print the labels etc, maybe hopefully I can do that soon when the business grows big enough.
Looking forward to hearing your tips!

I have been selling on eBay now for a bit over two years. From the beginning, I have printed out labels from eBay. You absolutely do not have to have a larger store to do that. You can print on a regular piece of paper, cut out the label and tape them on, or you can buy adhesive labels, 2 per page, and just make sure to get the settings correct so that the label prints out on one side.
I just bought an iPhone, so I also just started to take photos with it. In addition to the questions brought up by mazzonaspree2, I was wondering how to get square photos within the eBay app. I thought that there was an answer at one time on the Forum, but I can’t find it. Just answers on how to get square photos at the correct orientation, but I assume that is within the camera app and not the eBay app. I’ve been using the camera app in square mode and then loading them into the eBay listing afterwards.

You can’t get square in the app. You can crop and drag straight up & down to get the photo almost square after crop. I do that a lot.
other than that you just need to take photos in phone app in square mode and then upload in the app all at once. The benefit to this method on an iphone is that even deleted photos are held by the phone for 45 days. So if something goes wrong you have a temporary backup.

I used to use an airprint laser printer and print labels directly from the app. Now I use a Dymo hooked directly to a computer because it is much faster.
Another tip is that you can view the normal ebay full site in your browser. Go to ebay.com and then scroll all the way to the bottom and click on “classic site”. Occasionally when you click links it will go back to mobile site. Again just scroll to bottom and click classic site to switch back over.
I keep classic ebay bookmarked in my browser so when I go to ebay it shows my items I need to ship. I take my phone with me to storage building on this page so I can see my ship date and inventory SKU #’s to use it as a pick list.
You can also use the classic site to do all the things the mobile app won’t let you so you can be more productive while “out & about”.

thanks everyone for your comments!
many good ideas!
1.) I completely forgot about the square function on the camera on the iphone! Just listed a few items using it and its a good idea.
Generally I try to practice not editing my photos much after taking the photo. Practicing to getting right the first time.
2.) Thanks for the tip on using classic ebay,I’ll give it a try. I definitely use my phone when picking orders, granted I dont have much items yet, but so far, its easier to do with the phone.
3.) I’ll give printing labels a try too.
thanks everyone!
