Isnt eBay now denying active content on listings? or is this method not considered “active”.

Videos are considered active content which is no longer allowed.
In the search bar of the Help and Contact link, type in Active Content.
Click on link about Active Contenthttps://ocsnext.ebay.com/ocs/sc
Active content is any form of non-standard text that’s in listing descriptions to provide additional functionality, such as videos, animations, or sound. Examples of active content include JavaScript, Flash, and plug-ins. Active content can cause listings to display slowly on the page and in some cases display incorrectly when viewing them on mobile devices.
To improve the shopping experience for everyone on eBay, we’ll block the use of active content starting in June 2017. We recommend removing active content from your listings now to help make sure they won’t be affected.
Please follow these steps to determine if your listings contain active content.-

Nancy, I don’t think you can EMBED a video within a listing description anymore. You can LINK to a video, which will put the video image in your description, but when clicked on, it will play in a new page. Here’s an example (not my item):
Is this what you want to do?

I think the instructional page you are looking for is here:

If this eBay page is still correct, it looks like you can still embed a video in your description using html5: https://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-links.html
Links to product videos are allowed as long as you follow these guidelines:
You must be the owner of the underlying rights, including intellectual property rights, or be authorized to distribute it by the owners of such rights
The video is specific to the product being sold, such as a product review, demonstration, or installation video
The video included in the listing must be either:
An embedded video that uses HTML5 video while complying with eBay’s active content requirements, or
An external link directly to a video hosted on one of the following sites:
YouTube
Vimeo
Brightcove
Ustream
Screencast.com
Kizoa
DailyMotion -

Jay, As I said, you can’t really EMBED a video anymore. As the policy you quoted, you can LINK to one, if you follow those rules and the instruction page I posted, you’ll end up with something like the example I posted (which works on PC and Mobile)

Well wait, I’m wrong and apologize, that does say you can embed if you use HTML5, but I’m not sure there’s an practical way for most people to do that. Linking to YouTube is probably the best option at this point.

Oh, I also should note that the most recent update to that page says that YouTube videos won’t currently work within the ebay app. I tested the carousel listing on a smart phone, but was just using a browser, not the ebay app, so can’t say for sure whether it works with the app at this point or not.
