Hi!
I’m Mary, a Single Mom and Vintage Dealer, based in Houston, TX. I began selling on Ebay full time in 2016 as a way to support my family and stay home with my son while going through a divorce and some really hard times. That is when I discovered The Scavenger Life Podcast, and have been hooked ever since! (Thank you Jay and Ryanne! You guys have been true life savers.) Since opening an Ebay store, I started renting space in a vintage co op, and also opened a store front that I closed mid March, due to COVID.
My professional background is in art, costuming and fashion design. I have a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts that I earned at The School of Visual Arts, NYC, in 2004.
I’ve always loved collecting vintage, and second hand treasures. A natural born scavenger. I never thought I would end up selling vintage as a full time job, but it all started because of personal hardships, and lack of child care. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to make it, and now I truly love what I do, and feel blessed to be able to share my passion for vintage with the world.
You can shop my collection on Ebay, Etsy, or in person at Retropolis, (Houston’s oldest vintage co op of 18+ years in the Heights), 373 W. 19th St. Houston, TX 77008.
On a interesting side note: I have met Wendy Tremayne. I participated in a Swap O Rama Rama that she organized in Austin, TX way back. Cool that you guys are friends!

Welcome Mary. I know we also stumbled into selling online and have been surprised that its made us consistent money. Seems almost to good to be true. We can only have this life because so many Americans get rid of valuable items for free.
I remember when I grew up in Houston, the Heights was not a part of town you wanted to go. Makes sense the artists moved in and have made it cool.
