So I was about to list this vest I found, was comparing it to this listing:
I noticed the tags are slightly different so I did some research. Apparently my tag is from the 60s. It seems pretty rare, I see no comparables on eBay active or sold. What should I price this at? Is this something I should consider auctioning?

Here’s the blog:
Here’s my tag:

I’m confused as mine has the union made tag the writer is talking about in one of the pockets
But my tag looks different than the eBay listing I linked
I’m not sure if mine is 60s/70s -

Sure, try a 7-day auction. Why not?

What should I even start it at? I was thinking about putting an absurdly high BIN on it and gauge how many watchers I get first. Also I want to be sure if its 60s or 70s

Or put an insanely high auction price.

SellingCoolThings,
Can you post a pic of the Union tag? You can sometimes narrow it down to a date range based on the Union tag. I have done that a number of times and will be enough if you can’t find your tag.
Also, try to find the Lee tag. Here is a reference but doesn’t show your tag: https://vintagefashionguild.org/label-resource/lee/
Here is an image page on google, but still, I don’t see your tag:

Yea all the tag images I saw on archive sites/articles were either for jeans or the sherpa-lined jean jackets which seem to have different types of tags
Here are some images of the union tag. It was hard to get an image of because its inside this really small pocket and for some reason its folded over and stitched on top of.

This is where I would try auction kenny’s approach. I would do an auction starting at $750 or $1000. If it doesn’t sell, then list at the same price as fixed price + best offer.

The cotton seal indicates it is no older than 1973, when the seal was first introduced.
1973

The Seal of Cotton® is introduced. The Seal provides a focal point that serves as the basis of advertisements, produces an identity for cotton, attracts instant attention at retail, and quickly communicates comfort and quality to the consumer. By the end of 1973, 18% of American consumers are able to identify it. By 2003, that number had risen to more than 80%, making the Seal of Cotton one of the most recognized brands in the country. -

Here’s a Lee denim blazer that has been sitting idle in my store for almost 2 years.
I hope you have better luck than I have. I thought for sure that sweet denim blazer would have sold by now.
